Wonderful news on DH's eyesight! :)

And you are more than welcome here! I said to a friend yesterday I'll book out the castle outside the village for a big SS meet-up ;) That place wouldn't know what hit it lol Oh, but it will be fun.

My DH has always wanted to explore a castle - but to spend the night in one would be awesome! It's on his "bucket list." Wouldn't that be a blast?!!

Despite my "I don't wanna" attitude today I did get a few things done. Laundry - ugh. Did coccidia prevention on all da babies that I could catch, lol. Wormed the little baby pygmy buck (Chester) because he seems to be a parasite magnet... Wormed some of the bigger does that are looking kinda scraggly. Put some grated zucchini in the freezer.

DH rented a movie so we're abut to settle in with some popcorn and wine!

That would be awesome! :) I plan to spend a night in one soon enough. There are a number of them here, that you can stay over in and some are quite affordable too. Being me and adventurous though, what I would really like to do some day is camp for a night in one of the unoccupied, deserted ones. I know I'd be quite safe and my biggest worry would probably be the fickle weather.

My DH would love to find a "haunted" castle! Me - not so much, lol! A deserted one would be ok with me too...peace and quiet...maybe a window to see the stars through...sounds so cool!

Kilkenny castle is haunted (the one remaining original wing anyway). But I'm pretty sure there are many more here. This place has so much history…

The bridge near the castle is haunted too. It collapsed one day when too many people gathered on it at the same time, it couldn't bear the weight of them all. Sadly they were plunged into the river and drowned :( It's said that sometimes the ghostly figures of the people that died that day can be seen standing on the bridge. I've driven and walked over that bridge so many times but never saw or sensed anything.

If he really wants to experience a haunting I can recommend a B&B we stayed in in Cavan when we first came over. Our room was haunted :hide We were relaxing there a bit in the evening, before heading out when someone (something?) knocked on the door quite persistently. I got up to open it and there was not a living soul to seen at the door or on the landing. Later that night I was half awake and felt someone (something?) pushing down on the bedcovers on both sides of my feet and lower legs, pinning the covers down on me. I kicked at it and it stopped. Needless to say sleep didn't find me easy the rest of the night…
