 @ Baymule! I'm sure I didn't 'splain it very well. And the only bearing it has on SS is that if the new boss is a loon I might retire early, lol!! (as if :()

I hope your DH will be more careful now, after this! How is he doing now? I really like the idea of training Gracie to alert him when his blood sugar gets too low. She sounds like a clever girl and a quick learner.
It was a new, upgraded kind of sensor that he hadn't used before and he got frustrated trying to hook it up. I told him to call the info hot line and he said he'd do it in the morning - one night without would be ok, right? UH - NOOOOOO!

I really should brag on Gracie more than I do - she is really an awesome dog. Smart as a whip, fast, great on varmints, awesome watch dog, smart, always willing to work, great herder, smart - did I mention smart? The first thing I ever taught her when she was just a couple months old was "pick it up." I had hurt my back and bending over was painful. She would literally try to pick up anything I dropped. Sometimes it was just something I wanted to put on the floor, like the time I brought home a six-pack of tomato seedlings. I set them on the floor in the breezeway with the intention of taking them outside the next time I went. Imagine my "delight" when she picked them up (sideways and spilling soil) and carried them around the house trying to get my attention and to tell me she had picked them up for me, lol!

@NH Homesteader - she's really good in the house, but she's got a lot of hair! She knows to stay off the big living room rug and to stay out of the kitchen. She usually will stay on the rug at the bottom of the stairs. She did stay in our room several times when the old folks were here and we had those hard freezes. I was afraid if I let her stay at her post (at the bottom of the stairs) that she'd get after the old folks when they went to the bathroom. Great watchdog! And loves, loves, loves the Frisbee.

I'm being lazy this morning..enjoying my coffee before I go out and feed the monster and milk the girls. Guess I need to check on Lucy too and see if she's any closer to kidding. Kinda have a feeling she'll go closer to next weekend than this one. But, would be nice to go out and find her with a couple of healthy doelings on the ground! (Did I just jinx it - probably be boys now...)

Gracie sounds amazing! Definitely train her to look after your DH when he's home. I can understand his frustration with the sensor, but that could easily have been fatal for him. I'm so glad you were there and able to help him :hugs

I'm being lazy too today. It's beautiful out and I should be making the most of it, but I don't feel enthusiastic about work today and the arm I injured last year was hurting bad this morning.

Seriously she sounds lovely!

Would you come teach my dog manners? She believes my bed belongs to her. Oops... We're really bad dog spoilers! Lol

Since you asked so sweetly - I will definitely see what I can do!

We've got some errands to do today...ugh. I hate giving up half of one of my weekend days to run errands! But, I need a new dehydrator and I've got to go see mom and dad. It's been over a week and I don't want them to feel abandoned.

I need to get outside and see if this cold snap did any damage to my tomato plants. It's 8:25am right now and it's 46 degrees. But I'm gonna finish my cup of coffee and quite possibly have another before I go outside. I don't like the cold! Thought we were through with it. But nope - our psycho weather keeps fighting back.

I am sooooooooooo grateful that we got the electric fence up when we did. I saw Cowboy paying a little too much attention to Maddie a couple days ago and so I got her up in the backyard immediately. That means Gracie will be coming in season next. Getting a bit tired of fighting this battle twice a year. Ugh.

Took a little stroll out to the buck pen and saw that I've got a few seeds I tossed out popping through. Not really sure how much success there will be because a lot of those seeds were pretty old. Looks like the radish seeds were still viable at least.

At some point, hopefully this afternoon, I need to find time to get my tomatoes supported. The ones in the raised beds are a little over due. It's going to be a PROJECT to get them taken care of. I'm going to look for some stock panel sections to use - but if I don't have enough scraps I'll probably use a modified version of a Florida weave. It's past time for thinking about it...gotta take action!

Has it already been 6 months? Holy cow I feel like she was just in heat. Crazy. Yay for electric fence!

Hope everything survived the cold!

I don't think it's been six months either. I wonder if as she ages her hormones are getting wonky? And, I looked at her...private area...and she didn't "look" like she was in heat. Maybe Cowboy is just a horndog! I really do think he uses that as an act of dominance. Grrrrr!
