Whew - it's been a day. I'll feel a lot better when we have the details for the service. I hate loose ends. As soon as I get that nailed down I can work on transport for dad. We need a van we can roll his wheel chair (and oxygen) into. I'll ride with him if they allow that kind of thing...and DH will bring his mom.

It was awesome of the neighbor ladies to come pitch in. They did awesome! They moved furniture, rolled up rugs, got under the fridge...ugh.

I've been watching one of the does...she's got a big ol' belly and she's building a pretty good udder. Remember that buck I turned out with the does early this year? I think he did something... I need to go back and look up my dates.

I bought comfort food today...gonna go indulge in some Sea Salt Caramel ice cream!! Shouldn't have, but did. Eh...

What do you mean "shouldn't have"??? Comfort food is a must and my goodness, if anyone deserves it right now, it's you :hugs

I'm going to go down to west Cork for a mini camping break until Monday, so I won't be around much, if at all, over the weekend. You're in my thoughts and still sending hugs over to you and your dad.

It's been a long time since I've had summer babies. I've had more pneumonia with kids in the summer than the winter, especially if a kid has inhaled any fluids in a rough birth. For some reason the humidity keeps their lungs "moist" and they have trouble shaking it...so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. But, generally if the birth is easy the kids do ok. They'll lay around all day and get crazy active in the evenings.

Got a lot accomplished today. Went to the Funeral Home and got the final details worked out. Thank goodness they had pre-arranged their services. It made everything so much easier. They even had a credit on their account because the price of the casket had dropped! When does that ever happen? But, when we talked to the cemetery garden director he pointed out that there's no plaque on their crypts at the mausoleum. Plaque is about 12 inches wide and about 6 inches tall and it will have both mom and dad's name on it because dad will go there when it's his time. It is a mere $1200! Geeze louise! It's brass - NOT GOLD!

I arranged transport to the funeral and back for dad. It will be a bit less than $200 - a bargain in my eyes. I'll ride with him and DH will drive himself and his mom. Poor dad - he can't remember that mom is gone so he asks me where she is and I have to keep repeating the news. Bless him - he has to hear it over and over and over and it's just like the first time every time we tell him. :(

That is so sad. For both of you. Glad the arrangements are taken care of, huge relief. Death is expensive. I think the funeral home business takes advantage of people's emotions, the prices are absurd.
