Hope there's good news at your meeting! Maybe he can get SS disability with all the issues? I would think leaving his job would give some relief for "that stress" in the workplace. He has got to be discouraged with his health problems. Being a nurse, he knows many of the disease problems and the lack of a way to control some of them. That can be hard to deal with for everyone, as you live with them in many ways & worry.

Go hug a goat! :hugs Just not a stinky buck  Think good thoughts!

He would probably be a lot happier at home. That is a tough call.

Busy day for my first day off... :( I started at the dentist at 8am to get the sutures out of my mouth. So glad to have that done- it's kinda hard eating with thread hanging in your mouth...ugh! They told me that the next step isn't for a couple months when they can place the implant anchors. (not what they're called - but I can't remember...) Uh NO! I asked them if they could start on the other side of my mouth. They're going to make a permanent bridge thingy for the back molars on the other side of my mouth. Gee whiz... I'm already tired of this, but I want it done so let's get busy already.

Had to head to the other side of the universe (seemed like it) to pick up my rings. I have to have them inspected every 6 months to keep the warranty intact. If I keep the inspections up like I'm supposed to then the stones will be covered and replaced if they fall out. Turns out the middle stone in my 'right hand ring' was loose so it had to stay overnight in the hospital. At that point, I went ahead and left the wedding set to be cleaned and polished....so my hands have been naked since Tuesday....ARGH!

After that I headed to the phone store and finally got a new phone. I was using an iPhone 4...waaaaay old and out of date and wouldn't do anything anymore except lock up and lose battery power after an hour. I'm updated now with an iPhone 8...which really isn't so new but it's the one I liked.

While I was doing all of that DH was at home with the hot tub/spa repair man. It broke last year but we didn't have it repaired because mom and dad were here and we couldn't use it any way.

All in all with dentist and spa stuff I'm out a whole bunch of money today - YIKES! And, that is the reason we met with our financial planner this afternoon. It seems that we won't be as poor as I was afraid we would be if DH hangs it up. It'll be a reduction in income, but not as drastic as I thought. We've got several options and several income sources and lots of ways to choose....big problem is how do you choose when you don't have a crystal ball?????

DH is still undecided. One day he wants to be out of the work force - the next day he talks about how much he likes his job. I dunno…

I went out to the barn yesterday and found eggs all over the ground. I knew some of the hens were roosting up in the loft in the little barn - but it looks like they're laying up there too. No wonder I'm not getting any eggs! I may or may not climb up there and see where all the eggs are...sigh. Chickens are so stingy...least they could do is lay 'em where I can reach 'em.

My first doe could be due as early as 2 weeks from now. That would be Lucy - however I checked PIA's ligaments tonight and they're getting soft. I have no idea of a breeding date for her. She's got a cute little udder. She'll be a FF so I'll just have to watch her... Guess I'm not going anywhere for Christmas unless she kids. I could theoretically leave Lucy to do it on her own, but... probably won't.

So, goats are goating…..pigs are pigging... and things are still rolling along.

For your husband to quit and stay home, he is going to have to have more negatives that positives about going to work every day. Having a job makes him feel valued and contributing to the household. It's a coin toss and someday he will have to flip that coin.

Dentist. Enough said.

Gotta keep those rings inspected! I picked out plain gold bands for me and DH. I know what I do to jewelry and it ain't purty.

Eggs. Chickens. :barnieGoats that are due.:barnie

One of my ewes, Ewenique is due, swollen up like a dead hog in the sunshine, bagged up like a dairy goat and will go as long as three weeks like that before giving birth out in the rain and cold. :barnie

You have to inspect your rings? That's way too high maintenance for me lol. We are considering tattoos because I hate wearing rings and I am hard on them!

How are the piggies?

Just get a plain band. Ours are called comfort bands, the edges are slightly rolled. I put mine through demolition for jewelry and it has survived. LOL

I hate the feeling of rings on my hands. I don't do bracelets either. It's kind of an OCD thing lol. Plus DH has almost welded his finger to things before

@baymule Exactly right on DH's decision. He does like his job, but can't magically teleport there, lol. I'm trying really hard not to influence him - he needs to make this decision based on what is best for him. I can't see through his eyes so I certainly don't know what he's dealing with. My only input into his decision is that he best not think he can stay home only to sit at his computer all day and surf, play games, and Twitter... nope...not good for his body to stay motionless all day and that's his natural inclination. Won't be a good thing if that's what happens....

Yep - stupid rings have to be inspected. When we first got married, and for about 7 or 8 years afterwards I had no ring. Didn't really bother me. But we were out to dinner one night celebrating our anniversary and the waitress asked if it was a special occasion - DH says yes it's our wedding anniversary. The waitress looked straight at my nekkid left hand. DH grew up with a lawyer father and a nurse mother and is/was one of those "appearance" people. (not so much anymore - but he was back then) We left the restaurant and went straight to the jewelry store and he bought me a way too fancy wedding set. At the time we were getting over a really rough patch in our marriage so I let him! I love the rings, but I only wear them to work or if we go out. They are the first thing I take off when I get home. The "right hand ring" was another peace offering after another bad decision on his part. See the trend here, lol! He messes up and I get a diamond...

However, one year for Christmas he bought me an absolutely gorgeous diamond necklace and earrings...spent bunches of money. Not anything I would EVER wear so since he hadn't pissed me off lately I made him take 'em back. I used the refund to have my red barn built. I mean - there are certain things more important than stones - ya know!! When we were at the jewelry store having the rings inspected he was "Christmas shopping" for me. I had to drag him outta that store with the promise that he would NOT even think about another purchase. I have two ring fingers and I don't need any more rings. Period!

hate the feeling of rings on my hands.
It's weird - if I wear my rings all week at work my fingers feel nekkid on the weekends.

It's a yucky day today...damp and windy but not unbearably miserable. I think I'm about to go outside and try to put a working gate on the other end of the pen that the mama hogs are in. I want to get the other gals put in there away from the boars cuz I DON'T NEED ANY MORE BABY (or grown) PIGS!

Speaking of pigs - I thawed out some pork belly intending to get it turned into bacon but I ended up slicing up some of it and just cooking it up like that. I put some sweet and smoky flavored seasoning on it and it was pretty darn tasty....it's not bacon but pretty good anyway.

Gave some of the goats a second worming this morning. Had a few that got really pale really quick a couple weeks ago. I intended to catch 'em on day 10 for the second round - but today is day 12. Eh... probably ok. I'll keep checking 'em. Thinking about bringing Conan in and putting the Kinder buck out. I got my hands on him (Kinder) this morning too and checked his membranes. He looks good. He is extremely parasite resistant. I don't think I even worm him once a year... he just doesn't need it. Breeding him back to any Conan daughters should be a good cross. Hoping I get some Conan daughters!

Ok - gotta get my lazy butt outside and get busy.

My EX-DH and I got our ring fingers tattooed when we got married. He tattooed a giant Roman X over his recently and I'm trying to talk a doctor into surgically removing the piece of skin mine's on, vs covering it up with another tattoo.

Before we spilt I wore a simple silver ring on that finger, instead of my wedding set, which broke lol

That's the thing with tattoos.... kinda hard to get rid of.

Here's the thing about rings. Texas is a community property state. Generally - assets (money in the bank ) is subject to being split 50/50 in a divorce. However, gifts are the property of the recipient and therefore not subject to the community property rule. Never turn down a gift!

Went outside to work on the gate. It's a blustery day and I didn't stay out long. I did get the panel down that I had originally wired up there...and ended up just wiring up another panel, lol. But it will work better for the plan I have for that area. Came in to warm up and use the facilities. I think I'll wait for a better day to finish that project.
