How did doctor visit go yesterday?

Doc (and us) wants to go ahead with the shunt surgery, hopefully Monday the 23rd. Waiting on the hospital to call and confirm the date and set up the pre-op appt. Supposedly a simple surgery. One night in the hospital and home the next day. Ready to get this behind us!

Glad we've got a date. Now we get to be nervous for another week before it happens. I'll get some things done ahead of time so I won't need to be so busy when we're home. Supposed to only be one night hospitalized. Given DH's history I'll prepare for more, lol. I guess there goes my chances of a fall garden... Might be able to stick a couple things in pots. I'd love to at least have some fresh cabbage and broccoli... I love fall gardening. Just need to find time to work it into my already crazy schedule. Sounds ridiculous to say I'm retired and crazy busy at the same time, lol. Isn't retirement supposed to be relaxing?

i don't think many people consider relaxing to keeping a farm full of different animals, gardens and lawns along with everything else... :)

i know i can be as busy as my body will allow and still have plenty of projects on my list.

Well....sad Sunday around here. My Texans lost. In fact, it wasn't just a loss - it was an old-fashioned whupping. :hit

I thought I was a real smarty pants yesterday and I built myself a fish trap. I had purchased two that worked ok, but they were made out of netting and something in my pond was eating through 'em. Probably the turtle - the turtle that might find himself trapped if he doesn't stop! Anyway - I repurposed an old live trap for critters into a live trap for fish. I launched it yesterday in hopes of trapping a bunch of those mudcats in the pond. Total fail! Didn't catch a single catfish. However, it did catch a bunch of bluegill. I can see that I'm going to have to make some adjustments but I have no idea what I need to do. Guess I'll go back to trying to catch 'em on a hook. caught one the other day on some stink bait. Then I caught a bass on the same stinkbait. Don't wanna catch bass. This evening I think I'm going to try some cheese as bait. I've watched a bunch of youtube videos where folks are catching tons of catfish on velveeta (or something similar). I've got some velveeta so gonna give it a try. I'm gonna have the most well-fed catfish in history, lol.
