Yes, its changed me a little I htink, changed the way I think about a lot of things. Made me think about things I hadn't thought of yet!

Given me the courage to try new things.

I've learned a lot and tried a lot and found some wonderful people that I love to talk to and got a peek at what others are doing. I don't know if I would have had the gumption to try things if I hadn't seen that other people out there like me are trying the same things. Been a great source to find inspiration and vent frustrations as well. Who needs soap operas when you have SS and BYC??? :D

This forum has become my extended family. There are people I encounter daily that tell me I should just "Go to the store"instead of growing ,raising it,making it from scratch. I can get on here and read about things-solutions to problems in my garden or chickens.
I have become a more SS person then I ever thought I could be since last July when I joined. And I know if I have a problem you guys would give me non-judgemental advice.
I love this site and all of you!:)

:welcome We'll ask you again in a year! :D

For my two cents worth, when I moved to the country, I had aspirations of growing my own food--vegetable and animal. While I had already started down this road before finding this forum, the forum has provided my with lots of info to be able to put it all into practice. I appreciate everyone I have met through this forum, and every thing they have to offer. and it is always a comfort to know that when I am having a slow day, I can come here and chat with my online friends about things that concern and interest us all. I don't have that in my real world life. I have learned much, and have much to learn still.

Hey redux, welcome aboard! :frow

I think more. I still have not been able to keep a journal for an extended time, but I can still see what I was doing & what I am doing now by looking at my posts & threads I've been involved with.
I have backup when I have a crazy idea to run by DH that he might not agree with. "But free says.." or "It worked for modernpioneer!" or "Bee does it!"

Like others have said, I can see that I'm not nuts for wanting to make soap or can my own tomato sauce or raise chickens.

Noobiechickenlady, I am SO GLAD you said that! I have also caught myself saying things like that to the SO.
"What're you doing?"
"Oh, making these crackers free posted the recipe for..."

I've done that too. :p

It is funny when you actually meet someone on the forum face to face and you have to call them by their real name. :p

I do the same thing!!! :p When I'm telling the Bat something I want to try or make, I'll catch myself saying someone's name on here and she give me a puzzled look....then I say, "You know, from my forum!"

I must say this.....I really love this forum and find it to be an integral part of my life now. I'd hate to do without you all...it's hard to miss it for even one day! :)
