Good plan, except it leaves me open for that snake to move in. There will be NO snakes in my house!!!!

Oh no, we don't do snakes either. I personally don't mind them but hubby doesn't like 'em. He got bitten by a black snake last year while holding it to show it to DS, funny thing was it happened right after he says "now if you ever see a snake don't you ever pick it up, okay?"

The weather is taking its toll here. I have been watering my little deck top container garden faithfully every morning but have lost several plants, mostly peppers and tomatoes. My lettuce has all bolted. The blueberry bushes I planted are now brown and crunchy. Everything else seems to be limping along at best. I do have 2 cukes almost ready to pick and an eggplant that is looking like it will turn into something.
I wish I was handier. DH has been promising to fence in the area behind the garage so I could have my proper garden back. Still hasn't happened. He is taking next week off while DS is at camp and hopes to get a lot of his half finished projects done. We shall see.
I have not one but 2 broody ducks. The other blue swedish/runners were back by the fence last night. Sure enough, there between the stone wall and the fence between us and the woods is another nest. Those two went into the duck house last night. We tried to find the eggs in the dark but couldn't. They're back on the nest today. The other duck is still on her nest this morning. She came off for food and water but went back on. She's got 5 eggs under there. Not sure how many are in the other nest. DH is freaked out. He is not fond of the ducks. Wishes we had never got the newest three. Next time a nice trio of khaki campbells and we'll leave it at that!
DS wants to go to the Science Center today. It's so humid that I might just do it. We will reach the high 80s with heat index in the 90s and very high humidity. I'm ready for this to break. I was ready before it started. This is what I hate about summer. I have no energy, no ambition, I feel lousy.
Whine fest over.

Stop wishin' and grab a hammer girl! First of all NONE of us were handy in the beginning - trial and error and we learn and get better. You would be amazed what you CAN do.

Second (and this is really awful and sneaky :hide), there is no better way to motivate a man than to get out there swinging a hammer with NO IDEA what is going on!

I know. It's more a matter of not having the strength or energy. So I will start and he'll feel sorry for me and finish.

It is ALL good! :)
:D It is. I'm just whiny and difficult today. There are so many half finished projects around here it's pathetic. And with the humidity and whatever germs I'm fighting I want a magic wand to fix it all rather than do any actual work. So I'm taking DS to the Science Center where it is air conditioned and dry.

I feel you! I have no motivation to do anything either. It's just too dang HOT. I have a friend that is bringing her kids over after lunch and I get to watch them so she can get her car inspected today. I'm starting to rethink my generosity.....
