DH is a tech ed teacher. He got the brackets etc. as kits back in the 80s. They were at school for years being ignored. No one knew they were there until they were about to be thrown away. So he grabbed at least a handful of them. He planned to build a greenhouse or something one day. Then we discovered a similar kit on a chicken web site. I can't remember which one but if I have time I can search BYC for my posts about it there. I think the angles of the plywood were more complicated than just cutting them in half but don't hold me to that.
BB, the goats have no pasture at all. They eat hay and get walks in the yard for maple and pine branches and grass when we have it. If you look at the second to last picture, the area behind the playscape is now fenced in for them and the panel to the right of the green window has a door for them now. And it's got some insulation now.
We were calling it the Pentacoop when it just held chickens. We just call it the Barn now.
Found it! http://www.strombergschickens.com/
Theirs doesn't seem to built from scrounged materials and basic building supplies the way our is....
In case you couldn't guess DH once dreamed of building a geodesic dome house for himself. Child of the 60s/70s, what can I say???
