I just came in from shoveling out the barn doors, gates, and some pathways where dh can't go with the snowblower. He is touching up with the snowblower now, almost done. We got about 16-18" so far, I think. It is such a relief to be able to go out there and do my chores without the bungees around my ankles, holding my snow pants shut against the snow. That is my tip for you, Hen!

The goats were so relieved to be able to get out and walk around a bit. Only one chicken came out. The turkeys wouldn't come down, even when I shut the goats out for a while. They are going to be very hungry and thirsty by tomorrow, but I did all I could! Guinea cock, too, wouldn't come down from the rafters. Silly birds.

I am so relieved to not be milking Mya evenings now, so I can get everything done before dark and not have to go back out!

Your pictures are so cute!!!!
Aw thanks Free! Bungees! Good idea!! My overalls are drying inside out right now after my romp through the yard taking pictures.
I'll be going back out to milk Donki in a bit. Even she came out. She definitely does not like the cold at all.
Thanks Dace! I love the way the house looks all snuggled up in snow. Of course the inside is a disaster of shed snow clothes, and general mess, because I'm exhausted from the extra effort outside. I've been playing with pictures and knitting all afternoon.
The boy had so much fun in the snow. He really shows his Russian blood on days like this. Doesn't complain about the cold at all.

90 minute delay tomorrow and DH's school is closed again. I'm hoping they will change ours to a closing too. I got a text from our local CBS affiliate, found it on line and had several people post on Facebook. Still have yet to receive my official call from the district's automated system. Really annoying!

Finally got the call from the system. Still just a delay but I'll take it. And with DH home he can drive DS to school and take care of a lot of stuff here freeing me up a bit. I guess I can't complain too much. But I will, it's my journal after all!

Okay, can anyone explain this? Twice now the message that DH's school is closed has gone straight to voice mail without the phone ringing or caller ID picking it up. I just happen to notice the message light blinking and there it is. Very strange!

 Here's what's really weird. I was just in DS's room saying good night and I thought I heard this faint beeping. When I listened closely I didn't. Then I did. Then DH came in and asked if I heard a faint beeping. We walked all around the house thinking it was something off in the basement or something. Couldn't find a thing. DS finally found it. It was his metal detector in his closet. It had gotten turned on somehow and the volume was just really low. :th

All of CT is pretty colonial. No ghosties, the kid confessed to having been using it earlier. I consider it revenge. He's been reading the Spiderwick Chronicles and got a book for Christmas with all these little snipets of info. from the books. Some look like journal pages, some are envelopes with actual notes to pull out. there are maps etc. Anyway, I found a description of a changling, a faery child that's been switched with a human child. As I read it outloud to him, he thought it sounded just like him. Smaller than most human children, pointy ears, plus he was adopted. He was a little shaken for a bit!
