Cool, it's been a little nuts here so it wasn't on the radar screen much!
My new favorite snack from the Willimantic Co-op is called Hot Matt's Spicy Nuts. I don't know who exactly Matt is or how hot he's but his nuts rock! :hide

occured while doing a compare and contrast activity with my 3rd grade boys. The two things we were discussing were Walmart and Stop and Shop. "T" said "Both have a pharmacy!", an accurate answer. From "E" I got, "Farmacy? Is that where the vegetables come from?" :th
So, finding that amusing I just asked my own 3rd grade DS what a pharmacy was and he didn't know either. Well, we haven't been using prescription medications since seeing the naturopath so I guess I shouldn't expect him to!

*giggles*
 That's OK. Someone told me once that the ponds in golf courses are shallow cuz golfers are always in there looking for their balls!

I can't tell you how many times I said to a gym class while subbing, "Hold your balls" or had to leave the area when a baseball coach said it....

Indy gets his staples out tomorrow!! :bun I'm all fired up to go hiking and letterboxing and geocaching. This is my favorite time of year for it other than fall. It's too hot and buggy most of the time in the summer. I just organized and cleaned out my hiking backpack. It's hanging on its hook ready to go. Well, I need to add fresh water and snacks each time. But it's got the pooper scooper bags, and bug spray and the letterboxing kit and tissues and ..... oooooooooooo I can't wait to get on a trail with my pup! We're hoping to get to the Pachaug State Forest to the rhododendron sanctuary this weekend. Haven't been there before.
School has gone fairly well this weekend. I'm starting to count days. As in 4 Mondays of therapy left. (No Memorial Day or Finals week since I'm at the HS. I'll have to be there two other Mondays but won't see students.) More days at the elementary school since they don't have finals but with all the field trips going on I'm missing kids a lot there too. I haven't done a total count of days lately. I had one at the HS but we erased it because the Superintendent and staff did an official walk through today and we didn't think it gave the right impression. I think it's 31 days.
Not a whole lot going on. Growing my seedlings and planning to get the fencing up asap. Growing my chicks and waiting for the day they can move outside. Baseball and horseback riding keep us busy in the afternoons. Scouts too but that's suffering due to baseball. I'm going to print a bunch of pictures I've take over the year and let the boys who show up next week make scrapbook pages.
We got my mom some ornamental grasses for her front slope. She's been wanting some and has spent a lot of time cleaning up the area she wants to put them.
My last batch of kombucha was the best yet. Need to start more soon! Low on milk so kefir has been hard to come by. What I've made I've been sharing with Indy since he's on antibiotics and needs the probiotics. He loves it! Hates store bought yogurt of any type but home made is a different story. Smart doggie!

Well, I know where you can get more milk! ;)

And yes, cheese is considered a form of payment 'round here.

The staples are out. The incision is healed. The dog is cleared for take off. Darn good thing to because I can't keep him quiet another minute. He came into the reception area at the clinic and all but lept onto the 4.5 foot high counter. Harley, the clinic cat, who was asleep up there, didn't bat an eye. Apparently they bonded some during Indy's stay.... He no longer needs to wear his Cone of Shame. There is a lump where the drain was placed but the vet assures me that is normal and will heal. He lost 8 pounds, which he didn't need to lose. He's never been a pudgy Golden ever. Time for some treats!
Got through the week. The kids were antsy today because it was warm and sunny and no one wanted to be indoors.
Oh, we saw a gorgeous double rainbow last night coming home from doing errands. One of the most intensely bright rainbows I've seen in a long time. We pulled over to look at it and sure enough a second one appeared above it, not quite as bright.
Showers tomorrow so hiking may wait until Sunday afternoon. We may try a few local letterboxes that we haven't done before. I don't think it is supposed to pour all day and we won't melt if we get a little wet. Don't know if DH will go for that. He doesn't like to get wet. Unless it's spray from flying his hovercraft.
30 days left. Two of them are half days. The light at the end of the tunnel is brightening. As my supervisor reminded me today, it just means the train is headed right for us... We've got a lot to do before now and the end of the year!

I saw a dog coming out of the vet in a cone and it was SO funny. It kept startling him and when he'd jump away from it, he'd smack into something. And jump again....
