I saw a dog coming out of the vet in a cone and it was SO funny. It kept startling him and when he'd jump away from it, he'd smack into something. And jump again....
Indy was never afraid of it. He was just a bull in a china shop with it on. After he'd eaten with it off he would come to us and wait to have it put back on again. He just hated when he couldn't scratch his own ears!

I almost need OFG to rewrite this one. It is a beautiful sunny though cool morning in east of the CT River this morning. I wandered to the hay shed for an arm load of hay for the goats. After placing it in their outdoor hay rack wondering if I was wasting it since there are showers predicted through out the day, I opened the barn door to let the goats out. Thomas and Donki came bounding right out and headed for breakfast. From Daisy I got nothing more than a frantic "Baaaaaaaaaaaaah!" I think it had just happened when she stood up, but she had her plastic breakaway collar caught on a piece of the indoor hay rack. I decided to go around through the chicken coop to free her rather than duck under their low outside door. That meant going through the chicken coop. The birds were still locked up but getting anxious to get out in the sunshine. Apparently Vanessa, the Easter Egger, couldn't wait for me to open the pop door and chose her favorite method of travel- flying.... Unfortunately she chose to fly through the window of the still closed coop door. She was uninjured though surprised, as was I as the pane of glass from the window broke, bounced off the side of my head and hit the ground, shattering. Now, I had Daisy inside more frantic than ever and 16 chickens at my feet pecking at shards of glass. Fun! I grabbed a scoop of scratch grains and flung it out on the grass a nd shut the birds out of the pen. I got Daisy untangled quicky and came inside to collapse with a second cup of coffee and thank my lucky stars it is NOT a work day!

What? Not all milk and eggs? I thought you just sprinkled some seeds and milk appeared. Wait. Goats are involved somewhere too... they weed for you right?

Mornings like those are when I wonder what the heck I'm doing trying to be a farmer  I had to laugh at the chickens eating glass. Try explaining a 'goat related injury' to the chiropractor like I just did :D

Glad Indy is healed up!! I am jealous about the hiking though - just found out Rio (my big Lab) has a partially torn ACL and will have to have major surgery the first week in June. Quiet activity now and strict cage rest 4-6 weeks after surgery. Should be fascinating

Hope your day gets better!! LOL
