Good to be home!! We had fun camping with the Scouts yesterday and last night, despite some heavy rain in the late evening. We got through our advancement ceremony and dinner before it hit. The only lightning we saw was way off in the distance and it stopped right around the time we all went to bed. Could have been a lot worse! All of my den showed up, the only group that could say that... but I have the smallest group. We left around 9:30 this morning to come home and deal with critters, then took off again for a Family Fun Day put on by our local Boy Scout council at Cabela's. More fun. But I was moving a little slow......

Question: Do you believe that finding a four leaf clover brings good luck?

Another question: If you find a four leaf clover but accidently pull off one of its leaves as you pick it, does it bring you bad luck?

My answer: Heck yeah! I did just that this morning and not 5 minutes later was coming out of our tent and caught my toe on the lip. I had no chance to save myself and crashed over like a tree onto my left side, in front of most of the other adults. Ugh. and ow. Nothing's broken but my shoulder hurts like heck. My hip too but not as bad. I'm really glad we're not camping out tonight! I want my own bed!!!

Hen, if you want a 4 leaf clover, just LMK, and I'll send you one. I find them all the time.

That's about how I find them, too. Normally, if I look, I can't find them.

Smart!! :barnie
Need to try to sleep now. I usually fall asleep on the side I fell on. My shoulder is still very sore. All things considered it could have been a lot worse but I have a feeling I'm in for a painful night.

Where was the camp out? We were invited to one at Pachaug but couldn't go because Big G had to work on Saturday and I had the craft show.

Sorry to hear about the 'crash'...it's not fun when you do it and land on sticks, rocks, dirt, etc...hope you feel better and enjoy this beautiful day we're going to have!

Thank goodness I landed on a flat grassy area, no sticks or worse, rocks... I've done that few times in the goat pen. Ow!
We were at Charlie Brown camp ground up in Eastford. They let us have the grass area in the center of the campground and the big pavillion for free every year! Some people rent their own sites. The rest of us just put up tents around the pavillion.
We're going to be letterboxing at Pachaug one day soon (as a family, not the Scouts) and doing some hiking.
