Slightly less pain this evening. I napped on the porch swing with 70+ lbs of Golden Retriever over my legs. Not that I was chilly.....
Spent the morning on a trail ride with DS and a local childrens book author and illustrator and DS's instructor. I walked the Golden. He got to swim. The Shire went in the water but the pony wouldn't.
Nice way to start the week but tomorrow I've got to start getting stuff ready for DS's week at camp next week. I have to bring almost all his food so I'd better get busy!

A few pictures from the yard this morning, very random. I had the camera to try to catch the ducklings swimming but they didn't cooperate, again. So I took these instead:

Hope you're feeling better, Hen! That sounds like some fall. The garden is looking good. I wish our tomato plants were that tall already! :D

Getting there, thanks. I'm still aware of some pain in my shoulder if I extend it quickly and too far but nothing like that first day. It kind of feels like I got a tetanus shot a day or two ago....
I'm happy with the tomatoes progress. I've got more romas to get in but need DH to pick up another load of soil from our hay guy. The cukes are putting out blossoms. I hand picked off one cucumber beetle the other day. Haven't seen any since. The peppers are just sitting there existing. Not sure if it just needs to be warmer or what?

Ewwww...snake.....

You take beautiful pictures, though!
Thanks. I had a talk with the snake. She doesn't surprise me and I won't step on her. She's welcome to any small critters she can find other than my ducklings. (She's been in the front yard everytime I've seen her and I don't think any garter snake stands a chance against Edna....) I was very impressed with myself that I didn't scream when I caught sight of her almost directly below my foot....

So far I've managed to keep my son from trying to catch snakes. He's been told if he EVER brings one in the house he'll be in big trouble. He's got no fear of them which I suppose is good since we mostly see garter snakes here and venomous snakes are rare in our area. I'm not a fan of any kind of snake even if I know the good they do. They just need to stay out of my way.....
