Same with DS. He is small, thin with ribs showing. Pediatrician passed it all of on heridity (can't prove or disprove when biological mother is thousands of miles away!) He's slowing gaining some ground now that we have a clue about allergies, sensitivites and intolerances....

I was just at the grocery store picking up a few things when I turned and ran almost directly into the principal where my last job was. The principal who promised to rehire me after my student moved up to the Jr. High. The principal who chose to believe that I was the one who spread some gossip about my student without checking with me and never told me that was the reason he did not in fact rehire me as promised. The principal who did me the BIGGEST favor ever by NOT rehiring me so I found my current, much better job..... I smiled and said hi and he SNUBBED me! How childish!!!

IMO, very... but I have very little respect left for this man. And not just because of my situation.

I'm feeling like I have 35 unfinished projects and 0 motivation to finish any of them. I just got my welcome back letter for school. Staff reports Sept. 1 and 2, students start after Labor Day. I'm not feeling sad about the summer winding down. I never do accomplish half of what I set out to do. I'm just feeling kind of bleh. Unmotivated. I am attempting to pick up one of those many projects and finish it so I can move on to something new.
We did DS's back to school supply shopping at Staples today. Got 100% of the items on his list, on sale and extra to donate the "fill the bus" project that will be at tonight's street festival. His new teacher and one of her daughters walked in behind us which was neat. DS doesn't know her well but her DH and youngest son were just at our Scout camp week with us. We chatted a bit and I found out that one of last year's 3rd graders is leaving and one new student is joining the class so we still have 15 kids in the class at this point. I am thinking it is going to be DS's best year yet. 5th grade will bring a large jump in class size as more parents pull their kids out of the failing public schools because that is when they move up to the Middle School which has a terrible reputation.
SO one new project is going to be getting DS's desk organized and our schedule mapped out. He is going to be busy. I already talked to his riding instructor about scaling waaaay back for September. He is going to start swim lessons. He wants to join the band but can't decide on an instrument. Not sure how to proceed with that. He is also talking about joining the chorus again. Obviously with Scouts we are going to have to put the brakes on somewhere!

I also found out it took 3 days for her DH to recover from camp! And he's 4 years younger than me!! Made me feel a lot better!!

Better you than me. I despise school. *laughs*
I know! It's not for everyone, including most of my students. But for me it's like New Year's Day. And I'm ready for a change. As much as I love being home, and we do keep busy in the summer, it does get a little boring not having anywhere to go everyday. :)

Heh. Yeh. They need some serious overhauls to the school system and some alternate options. I didn't realize at the time that I would have done better in a trade school. I liked to learn and it was constant strife because this never seemed to happen at school.

We're sort of getting that this year. Since we have been unable to fix our "failing" schools the state has assigned us a State Master who started next week and will be overhauling our schools. It's going to be interesting and I'll be happy to come out of it with a job!

Yeh. Only I haven't heard any reasonable plans from any of them.

:barnie

I've just hit a big wall of "tired of all the b.s., can we end it all now".
