Ah, my poor neglected journal....
Obviously this is a busy time of year for work! It is going as well as can be expected. Scheduling has been more a nightmare than usual but we may be seeing the light at the end of that tunnel soon.
We are still dejunking and decluttering since that project was a little tough that last week before school with no power. We did what we could but never finished. We have been busy almost every night this week. DS is definitely overbooked with activities. We're going to have to watch it. Scouts and swim lessons are already registered for and paid for. I can back off on riding if I need to but he loves it. There are 4 district wide cross country races on Tuesday afternoons. The first was this week so there are three more. They're right after school but take almost 2 hours because they break the kids up by grade and gender. 4th grade boys go last of all the groups.
I have a couple of things brewing. One is major simplification of our household. The animals will all stay. The garden will stay. It's the sheer volume of stuff that must go. (Oh, the DH and DS get to stay too.... )
The other is scheduling time to study for the Speech Pathology Praxis exam I never took after graduating with my Masters. The head of my department told us yesterday he will be retiring in the Spring of 2013. He was the one to push for Speech Assistants in the schools. We have no way of knowing that someone else would share his views and the positions could be cut at some point. I can protect myself by getting certified. I would also be able to look for a much higher paying job! I have to find a way to do this! DH is trying to work with me on it, but every time he says he'll be here to give me study time something comes up. Tomorrow he is taking DS to sell Cub Scout popcorn for a 2 hour shift so I will have a little time then. I was supposed to get every Friday after school but he just called to say something came up at school and he's just leaving blah blah blah.... it's always something. Anyway, I found this book at Borders going out of business sale. http://www.amazon.com/Organized-Sim...2634/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1316201836&sr=8-1
