Well! The day wasn't a total loss!!! The budget actually passed! In a few months I should get a tiny raise, but it will be retroactive and I will get a check for a couple of hundred extra. Last year it came right before Christmas

I think his leg may be wrong in this one too?

Another week down. First full week following the schedule and trying to see all the kids. We have a few wrinkles to work out but so far, except for the one PITA kid I had to remove from our room last year. He's just as much a PITA this year. Today was a little different. We have a new computerized system for doing our monthly billing to Medicaire and we had a three hour training on it. It actually only lasted two hours which was kinda nice since we'd canceled services for the morning and we had some time actually do our September billing for real!
Last night I got a bizarre call on my cell. It went to voice mail and when I listened it sounded like my supervisor but she wasn't talking to me. It was someone talking TO her. Weird. I listened enough to realize that it was probably her sister calling to discuss their mother's recent trip out to visit. I told her about it this morning and we couldn't figure out why her sister had MY cell #. I didn't think anymore about it then this afternoon I kept getting calls from #s I didn't know. Since my phone is a pay as you go I didn't pick up. Only one call left a message and it was some doctor's office about confirming an appt next week for someone named Louise. It took a little while but I finally figured out that she had somehow programmed her phone to forward calls to my phone. Oh yay! I tried calling her but the calls was diverted back to my own phone. I was able to text her and let her know. She had to get her daughter to fix it but the calls have finally stopped. Oy!
DH just sold an old riding mower he got out of the dump for $100. Sushi for dinner!!!! :woot

Well, we think we solved that mystery. The short version is that we have a student at the high school who drops by our room to "visit" (hide from security, administration, etc.-whoever is trying to get him back to class). He is very busy and has little respect for boundaries. My supervisor has a habit of leaving the door open then going into the inner office and getting on the computer. If she left her phone on the table, which she occasionally does, he could easily have come in and messed with it. About 9:30 last night her youngest daughter was able to reset it for her.
It is raining and will be all day. We are very glad we decided not to have our tag sale today!
I am off to see my doctor about the continuing issues with my ankle/foot since camp. I cannot be on my feet for more than 15 minutes or so without it swelling and hurting. It is affectin my life everyday. I can't stand and cook for lengthy periods. The days when I have to walk a lot at work mean I'm on the sofa with an ice pack on it for most of the evening afterwards. I can't keep doing this! I suspect tendonitis. We'll see what doc says. I can't take anti-inflammatories due to allergies. I'm thinking a possible cortisone shot..... ?? We'll see. Physical therapy at some point as well?

Diagnosis-swelling and tenderness of left ankle. Will be x-rayed Monday am to rule out stress fracture. Treatment? Stay off feet, elevate and ice. Bwahahahahahah!!! Yeah, right! I walk on average 8,000 steps a day just in the 7 hours I'm at work! Then there's cooking, cleaning, shopping for food, taking care of animals, housework.... while it sounds like a good excuse to get DH and DS to do most of it the reality is DH does a lot already and DS can't do a lot of it either.... sigh.....

I don't know as any of us realize how much time we spend on our feet when we're not doing much of anything.... :/ One day at a time I suppose. I'm trying not to think of what happens if it has to be casted and I can't drive my car. We don't currently own an automatic. I'm not sure I can clutch in a cast.... maybe it would be a removable type so I could sneak it off to drive? Guess I am already worrying about it..
Thanks for the good thoughts.

Will go in for x-ray tomorrow am as soon as DS is on the bus.
I'm wearing a more supportive brace on it and it seems to help some. I slid on the wet deck this morning and the ankle twisted exactly in the way the doctor wants it NOT to move but it doesn't seem to have made anything worse. I was on my feet some at the Blessing of the Animals today but sat as much as possible. I should ice it now that dinner is going.
Once again I don't feel ready for my week and I'll be winging it as I go along. DH brought lots of laundry down and washed and dried. He brought it up for me to fold and hung things that needed hanging. The rest I did from a sitting position. This really is not much fun!

I hope you can get some answers about your ankle! What an annoyance to have to deal with pain everyday!
Several months ago I rolled my left foot and the outer part of my foot has caused me pain off and on the whole time. Sometimes it will even have a bruise. I really need to get it checked but about the time I decide to go to the doc, the foot feels better

That kept happening to me too, although it never felt fine. It would be less painful. But anytime I have to be on it a lot it swells up and hurts at least some. Hoping for answers!
