Thank you! I did. I feel like I'm in a better place than I was two days ago. I'm making lists and jotting thoughts. I'm off from school for another month. I can get things really organized around here and be ready to start the school year on a healthier note. 46 is feeling pretty good right now.

Haha! They snuck out and bought me a grocery store cake. It was actually quite good.
We went to a farmers' market and were very disappointed. Prices were high compared to the farm stand I usually go to. A pint sized box with 4 small pickling cucumbers in it was $3.50! No thanks. No one had tomatoes. No one had salad greens. There were lots of blueberries but nothing like the price I paid to pick my own. I'll probably do that again next week if there's nice weather. I did get some nice looking beets and carrots. Then I went to the farm stand and got pickling cukes. I have a bunch of Aunt Carol's sitting on my counter. I did get to use my own dill which was pretty excited for me with my lame garden this year!
The really great farmers' market is tomorrow from 11-3 but we'll be in church until just after 11 then we need to be at a birthday party at one. The market is not in the right direction to squeeze in. Oh well, next week!

We stopped at a farm market we don't usually shop at today. 2 zucchinis for $2.00 - I can get them for 3/$1 nearer to home. The tomatoes and pickling cukes were the same story; 4 pickling cukes for $3 - obviously gold plated. Sweet corn was $4/dozen.

However, the green beans were beautiful and an excellent price, $2/quart. I bought some green beans and got some day-old bi-color sweet corn for free.

Yum, pickles!!! I just put them in jars and popped them in the fridge. Mom stopped by with my half of our pork from the CSA order this month. Ham and bacon still to come!
Hotter than it has been here. And very humid. It's hard to get anything done. I've folded and put away three loads of laundry, have another in both the washer and the dryer.
We're having lunch with a church friend and her visiting granddaughter who is the same age as DS, then we are going to the library to either play on the playground or inside if it's too hot. At 2:00 they're holding a dog agility demonstration if it doesn't rain.

I am smart enough not to complain too much about our heat and humidity here, since I know it's worse elsewhere. I'm just having a tough time getting anything accomplished! Did some work in DS's bedroom with the a/c on. Rarely do we run it during the day. Started the day at the orthodontist. When he was done with me he asked to look at DS's emerging teeth. We already know from his dentist that braces are probably inevitable. Dr. P. agreed today. He's only got 3 adult teeth coming in so far, all on the bottom. There just isn't room for them all. So he wants to do a free evaluation next time I go in, just to see where things stand right now.
I do have bread in the machine. It's not putting out too much extra heat. I'll start a batch of yogurt later.
I found kefir grains on Craigslist in Bridgeport, available by pick up only. I wish that were on the way to my in-laws since we're going on Saturday, but it isn't. Still looking. SIL and kids are visiting from Iowa. Seems that my nephew had a fencing tournament in Chicago (won the bronze medal!) so they decided to fly to NY rather than back home. DS will love getting a chance to see his only cousins. He gets to see them once in the summer and once at Christmas. They're a lot older, 17 and15, but he adores them, especially my nephew.
Off for haircuts. Just a trim for me. I think before school starts I'll do something a little more drastic but for now throwing it up in a clip is all I can handle!
