64, drizzly and humid. Puppy decided to go wading in the ducks' little water garden pond. Puppy had a bath. Puppy decided to grab a used tissue out of the trash. Big dog decided to stand up in my path as I rushed to grab it out of his mouth. I tripped over big dog, fell on my shoulder and my head missed the stone hearth by a mere inch. Twisted my ankle too. Luckily just a scare. I'm a little stiff here and there but not truly injured.
Mom and I were going to go to a knitting expo in Hartford but heard from DB's GF that it isn't worth the price of parking and admission. She's been there since last night and is staying the whole weekend for classes. We were just going to go for the market. Now I can save my money. We're going to Michael's instead where I will plan some homemade Christmas card projects.
DH is at the Harvest Fest at school which is being held inside. We will head over in a bit so DS can have some fun.
Cleaning and decluttering continue as always. I cleared a small side table in the LR and moved it to the basement. (Wrestling it down the basement stairs proved that I'm not really badly hurt!)
Last outdoor farmers' market of the year tomorrow, complete with kids' costume parade so we'll head there after church. We need to find carving pumpkins. DS needs to make a jack o'lantern for Cub Scouts Monday night.

Sounds like a busy weekend for everyone. Sorry to hear yo fell over the dog and almost bonked your head. What is it about puppies and tissues. Mine will digest a whole box if he gets a hold of it.

We have a Harvest Fest tomorrow at the kids school so today is full of yard work and chores. Never enough time for all the work. Especially if you take time to play. :D

Have a great weekend.

There's an auction at the University of Connecticut barns tomorrow. Rescued and rehabilitated horses and goats. DH and DS are going to be gone on a Cub Scout overnight. I'd have free reign (pun intended).... I just don't have shelter or anything set up. So common sense will prevail.

Are you still home? Away from that auction. Or did good sense fly out the window?
Its a good thing I am not near you. Just reading your post made me start thinking about how quick I could make a shelter for a few goats. LOL

LOL, I am home. I saw the guys off then went to "village coffee" at church. I came home and played with the puppy in the yard, cleaned up a few things. I cleared the table so I can do some rubber stamping and make a few more cards while I'm not in anyone's way. I just stopped on the computer to check for emails. I think I'm safe. I think...

Made a bunch of cards and played with the puppy for a good long time. Didn't go to the auction. Phew!

Back from walking in the local energy assistance program's "Walk for Warmth". It was nice this year. Last year was very cold, and although that made the walk all that much more meaningful, I'll take a day like today! Picked up our Thanksgiving turkey from the CSA farm. It's a 10lb Narragansett. I'm a little concerned it won't be enough to feed the 7 of us with decent left overs. I'm thinking of getting some turkey breasts to do in addition.
The boys are home. I got home from the walk to find them both crashed on the couch. DS is still there. DH got some pictures that I will post in a bit. They had a good time.
Cleaned the duck house and chicken coop. Now we're puttering getting things looking nicer for Thursday. Not a big crowd but still...
The bathroom won't be done but oh well. DH took all the old tiles down and put up new wall board but I don't think we'll have it painted before Thanksgiving. And yes, it is our only bathroom. Bare walls won't be any worse than the icky old hummingbird wallpaper!
We got big news from MIL this week. We have always been expected at their house for at least part of Christmas, and it was never enough. We had to sleep over one or two nights on the pull out couch in the main room, or now that we have DS we were staying in a downstairs spareroom over the crawl space. Can you say brrrrrrrrrr! SIL and family come in from Iowa and stay the week, taking the upstairs quest room. Uncomfortable and no privacy. MIL called to say she isn't doing it this year. We are welcome to come down for part of a day and visit. We are not welcome over night. She has called SIL and told her not to come. She has really bad bursitis and she just can't do it this year. She doesn't want it at our house because we don't have room to put them all. So we are home for the whole holiday for the first time in 21+ years. I feel bad that DS won't get to see his Iowa cousins, and that DH and his sister won't be together. But other than that, what I feel is relief! MIL also says no presents at all this year, except for DS. This is the first time in our lives together that I haven't approached the holiday with an underlying feeling of dread. Refer to post #200 to read last year's tale of Christmas joy! (please ignore all the typos I just found while rereading it myself!)

Glad you are going to have a happier holiday time this year! :D

I am tying to lower the stress of Thanksgiving this year by doing a bit of cooking all week. Hopefully that will work to make the holiday smoother here as well.
