so on the north side of my house is an overhang roof and porch. ITs falling down and rotted from rain, a real swamp. SO I get the bright idea to use hubby's muscles and had him rip the whole thing down.
Once all the yucky rotted wood was gone we spent less than 150 dollars on replacing the wood and painting and cleaning it up and, drum roll please, including the gutters. We had an extra rainbarrell too. It looks gorgeous. No more swamp and rot.
Took a day and a half and viola! INSTANT fix. Poor hubby's muscles are sore, might have to rub those for him later. :bun
Never did find a climbing rose but we are looking. Removed the old a/c unit and scrapped it. made the back super clean now. I really wish I could learn to post pics. I am really proud. Weekend warrior success story.
My black hen passed. Quietly in my garden. No rooster mounting her every five seconds or hen's smaking her. I think she enjoyed the time by herself, she could see the others threw the fence but they couldnt hurt her.
Its been a rough week but I do think I am more in love with my husband than even before. He is my rock. He has kept me sane and focused.
FOr self sufficient news- I have decided to open a business selling my husband's metal garden art and my plants. I make these topiaries that catch a lot of peoples eye, and I end up giving away way too many, Im gonna start selling em. I have a lady to pick up a 3 foot crane this weekend for 150 dollars. Insane I know. Never imagined we could make money off what we do. He welds em and I moss and plant em. Got soooo much bubbling in the brain... 0
We have decided to buy a truck and build a greenhouse and shed for the work. The best part is if we never sale a thing, we are doing what we love. I'd love to open a little greenhouse type place that people could get unusual and unique garden supplies.
Hubby also makes plasma cut fire rings and sorts of cool stuff.
Now off to work up a business plan... I love having something to hope for and work for.
Wow, congratulations. It would be so nice to earn money for doing something you love. Is this business, your green house and such something you can do from home???
You know some pictures of your art you could share with us would be a great place to start.
