Let the chickens out and had two guinneys in the mix. Neighbors birds are travelers, it was a peacock a few weeks ago. they eat my feed and water then take off and squawk at any thing that moves in the yard. Its windy here and a bit cooler than it has been. Just wish it would rain.

Putting on my galoshes to do the rain dance. someone has gotta do something, and the clouds refuse to give it up.

Those "baby" possums are actually almost grown enough to leave the mom. They weren't born in the trap, but just found momma there. Possums are born as hairless blind pinkies about the size of a quarter, and crawl into moms pouch to nurse and grow into what you found. They were actually probably 5-6 weeks old at least, and about to be able to fend for themselves. In a few more weeks they may be after your chickens too if you didn't send them off far enough away. I raised a few young ones once, so did a lot of reading on them. That momma possum was killed(stray dog) and the babies were strewn all over my front yard. We found 6, but none of them made it because the dog had mangled them a bit as well while getting the mom.

Took son to see Mr. Poppers penguins. It was cute. the kids seemed to love the penguin poo. And there was plenty.
Ate at the Collin Street Bakery. Lordie they make the best anything with pecans. I had chicken salad with pecans on Pecan bread with muenster cheese and it was delish.
Then we bought about 4 million calories worth of cookies.
He's working a snoopy puzzle and I'm kicken back watchin cheezy horror movies and reading about doing all the chores its too hot for me to donow.

Daughter is almost back from church camp, five hour drive. ugh. I miss her so. they dont let them have any technology while they are there. So this is the first time I have talked to her since last Saturday morning. It bought broke my heart. I love that she and I are so close.

Well, I should probably do some dishes, hubby is home and we are going to go out.

Laters.

see personally i like possums, face only a mother (or widlife rehabber like myself coudl love lol) but if you can keep em out of your coop they are actually quite beneficial because they LOVE LOVE LOVE slugs and snails (they also realy like spoilt berries and fruit and do a great deal of clean up)

plus whats not to love about an animal that is essentially immune to rabies!

ok, just ate prime rib with hubby and kids had ribs. After a couple of drinks, cheescake and icecream for the kids, the total was 130 dollars. owww.

But man was it a good meal. The owner is a friend of hubby's and we were treated very well. But I made the mistake of offering to pay. LOL. He normally always pays, either from our account or out of his cash, but I wanted to treat for father's day.

Bought him a new laptop for fathers day and he's pretty pleased. He's playing with it now.

Well I hope everyone has a good weekend, ours is going well.

I'm enjoying spending the money. We agreed to spend a bit on each of us.

Today we decided to go to NEw York City.

I am thrilled. We are going for a whole week while the kids are with their father.

I have never been but hubby grew up in Jersey. We are staying with his actor friends in the flat iron building. I cant wait. Wow, this ole country girl is going to the big apple. :weee

Now the biggest question is what to wear. Summer dresses and good walking shoes. But all I have are work shoes and flip flops. Shopping is in my future. :tongue I no like shopping.

Going to the JErsey shore too.

We are going the first week in August, so sorry, I will probably be driving yall crazy about it.

Now what to do with dog and chickens.......

My brother and his husband just went to New York, he texted me and said that "now I know why people are always dumping bodies in Central Park on Law and Order, this place is a maze" He said he had a good time though and I'm sure you will too! I have been to NYC once, but a long time ago and all I really remember was the dang traffic. Driving in downtown NYC is truly an eye opening experience

Good to hear you are gonna take some time off together!:thumbsup
