My dreams were to have a family, chooks, a vegie garden and be somewhat self sufficient, live in the country and be fit and healthy.lonelilly said:So, (how) have you turned your dreams into reality?
If you live in the country, are you self-employed or do you commute?
Does your day job speak to who you are outside of work hours?
Give me words, your advice, your stories... I feel so claustrophobic in this city sometimes, I just need to know that there are people out there who have succeeded in living differently.
I met my firefighter hubby at 26 and we now have 3 mostly lovely boys.
We moved to the Country for hubbies work, now he works back in the city and commutes :/. I call this the Country but t'hats because I came from a major city here in Australia.
I work as a Remedial Massage Therapist part time from home, this enables me to live my life of all home cooking, and tending to the garden (I am sounding very 1950's here) and looking after the cooks.
I also have a home gym so have the fitness part covered.
My day job does speak to who I am outside work hours as I am also trained in natural therapies - Acupressure, Aromatherapy and Reflexology. I can use all these therapies in my family life and do daily, I also like to help and heal people so it feels that my work life is in sinc with my life philosophy.
The only thing I feel slightly claustophobic about is the amount of washing I have to do daily and that really isn't helping the planet much but I don't know what the option is :/.
