Am I the only lunatic who crouches in the snow and looks longingly at any bare patch that appears in my garden areas? In February?

And don't answer the phone, either. People who know you have a barn and land think you want their retirees and that taking on their feed and vet bills is something you dream about!

And don't ever buy a goat to save it from the owners who have been neglecting it and don't know when it was bred!!!!! :he

OK, I had to, it would give me more stress to have left her there..... and I admit I am in love.... :love

To avoid stress I avoid people with high drama. I know they are entertaining but a steady diet of that is draining.
I surround myself with friends with positive attitudes. If they have a bad day, I take them seriously.
I also run most mornings, cut and split firewood, and hike when I can. Great stress reducers.

I seem to be much less stressed when: I am "organized', when I am 'prepared' and when I am educated.

Being organized helps me to make things run smoothly. Just getting dressed to go to an appointment can cause stress if I am running around looking for shoes, jacket, keys etc..

Being prepared helps me to look ahead with confidence--knowing that I am stocked up and ready. Even if it's only for a small snow/ice storm.

Being educated; even though I don't mean college degrees--if that's what your life needs--get it!! I have tried to educate myself by taking classes for things that are important to me and my life--beekeeping, gardening, pruning, pesticide use (even though I do not use chemicals at my farm--I now know what they can and can not do for me). I have read, googled, searched, asked questions, learned from others--how to can, freeze, spin, weave, sew, cook from scratch etc...
