No, I haven't, but man I sure want to!!! I drool everytime I think about it..

and as big as some bears get, you know, like the size of a small cow....I mean, wow imagine the meat in the freezer!!!

And bearskin blankets to keep warm at night...........

MP- I hope you're not freaked out, either! Not my intention at all!

Quail---put that on your "TO DO" list

find a cut of bear meat somewhere and eat it.

(Do ya think you can find bear meat???)

I don't even know what process plant would do bear around here?

When I was skiing in New Hampshire one time long ago....a truck pulled in with a bear strapped to the hood. I asked the guy about it and he said the meat was delish!! He loved hunting bear for the thrill and the freezer.

We don't have good bear here. Not right near me anyhow. Might be bad, might be great..hahaha--bear raidings and life is intersting, but do I want them around...lol

NOT Southern, Ca. :)
Ok, so I missed all the action.

So, jay I was poking fun at myself because I have horrible eyesight, even with my glasses on. I was not doubting you in the least. If anyone has the skill and experience to see and photograph bears it would be you.

I think you of all people should know we don't judge around here. I liked seeing the pictures I thought they were great.

Just teaches me that there is still a lot to learn about hunting and the wild.

Bigfoot? Did someone mention bigfoot?! :D

Only footage I got is in Harry and the Hendersons!

Smile, Jay....I don't think they were trying to say the bears weren't there, they were poking fun at themselves, because they didn't know what they were looking at. ;)

Personally, me, I'd be dropping that bear, eating good for the winter (oh assuming it's bear season there!) and while I'm munching on good ol' bear stewed with potatoes and seasonings, I'd be sinking me feet in a big ol' soft bear rug

But, that's me. :D

Like the deer shots, too. The buck is nice, but I'm thinking the doe would make a nice tender roast! and then some! :drool
Hey look, the funny is on me, served crow style. I don't mind eating crow, I will eat it with fork in hand.

Smile, Ali.... I posted and it what it is, just a personal jab back to remind you I don't erase my post. It must build you to have such a low dig back at me.

I have never been one to exclude crow, it is what it is. I have, and always will be one to face my short comings head on. Ali to jump on and have a say, I'd say you miss judged me. I'll eat crow when I bring it upon myself, maybe you can learn something from me?

I will eat crow when I have done something wrong, I am always accountable. So when you harvest this bear and eat its fatty flesh your going to send off its hide to be tanned?

Hey, pics are what they are, come hunt the bears. Proof is in what you do, I like to think your words are action.

I got bears, invite, come hunt and do your thing....

I will even pay the $26 out of state fee, I got bear... You got hunt?

Think about your bear skinned rug?

Yup, I put it up there. Bring on your hunt, have a bear skinned rug.....

I'm sorry, Jay, I wasn't at all trying to poke fun at you. I was trying to cheer everyone up.

Apparantly I failed at that quite miserably.

Since I cannot even joke around with you, I won't try again. Remember, Jay, tone cannot be read on these forums.

Thanks..... For the second time.....

Now about that bear skinned rug you want, I am serous, you can come hunt the bears. It'd make for a good rug and gud eats from your recipe book. I never tried bear, well a bear stew once, it was nasty. I am serous, come hunt the bears, I'll pay the out of state fee. If your DH hunts rifle, wants to get in a good bear hunt, as long as you eat the meat, I can promise him a bear. :weee

Some more tips at being ss is roadside gathering. :celebrate

Walnut trees are dropping their nuts here in the north. Spotted by nuts on the side of the road, and nobody is picking them up.?

First off, wear some rubber gloves, gather the nuts, even put on your fourways to let driving folks know some one is down the road.

Walnuts are at $3.99 a pound, by Xmas that price will go up.

Its free food, left for some one to gather.

I don't have a walnut tree on my property, but I have gathered more than a bushel full from roadside. :thumbsup
