Oh you naughtly boy. Had us going there.

Beautiful animals that should produce beautiful offsprings.

I agree that bloodlines do make a difference in a lot of cases. I did once own a Boxer and an Irish Setter. Both were dumb as a box of rocks and neither could be trained. Two Dalmations - one purebreed and one mixed. The mixed ran circles around the purebreed championship line dog in the ease of training. Go figure. I now have a purebreed lab. Wonderful and smart to boot. His only problem is he is afraid of water. LOL Another - go figure thing.

Congatulations! I am glad you chose a female dog. We insist on female dogs, because males pee on everything.
When my DD was young and I was still with her dad, we had a male golden retriever. Being an avid gardener and having that self sufficient streak, I of course tried to grow as many vegies as possible. Well this dog really liked one of the broccoli plants and watered it doggie style on a regular basis. This plant obviously appreciated all the attention and grew to be huge, compared to the ones I was watering.
One day I sent hubby out to pick some broccoli for dinner and he came back in with a nice big bunch. So I asked him which ones he picked, he was surprised that I cared and told me he picked the biggest ones. DD knew why I hadn't picked them, but DH was not aware. Once I explained it to him, he could not get himself to eat any broccoli for a long time.

In the woods with the critters
After I posted, I went into canning mode. The last canning of the year, and the sauce is boss till late next summer.

It was nothing less than a h-e double tooth pics of a long shot and I only lost two of 43 quarts.

Like all of you, I also treat my animals like family members. Although, in my neck of the woods, which seems like the landscape of death canyon, I would like to have another child. DW had DD before we met, and I had DS before we met.

It's almost like the brady bunch with a grizzly adams theme song. Just doesn't fit, although she cooked taters in a pan, and I cooked mine in a cast iron skillet. She noted how much better mine tasted. I also added some spices.

I consider struggles like stepping stones, growing together in life. It does make me sad when I think about being a Dad again, never to have that time to spend with a baby. Its all business, but personally, its all about business, but with a family in mind. So it is what it is, I hate being on the losing team of choices in life.

So Sarah will now be my DD to raise.

Get my drift??

I am being selfish, although it is what it is...... :hit

Glad your canning turned out so well.
I understand about having a 4 legged kid. I haven't made children but raised a kitty for 9 years (till she passed).
I'll forgive you for foolin' me as long as you post more pics once you have her. After all, she's gonna be adorable :love and we should enjoy her some too. :p
