I don't really know P, I am thinking some bologna and salami or maybe some beef sticks.

I want to share something for all you not so hardcore ss folks, who are interested in making some of your own meats but don't know how.

Meat making kits can be purchased from this company.

http://www.conyeagerspice.com/conyeager/defaultstore.html

Whether you just eat pork and beef, to hunters who would like to make something new with their deer meat. I use the kits because I can adjust the taste to my liking, which means I can adjust the amount of gggaaarrrlllliicccc and spiciness.

Not only is it good eats, which I made myself, its also self rewarding. When I adjust the spices in a kit, I always write it down, and than grade it to how much I like it. I also have used Elk and buffalo in making some of these. Some kits are for 10 pounds of meat others are for 25 pounds of meat.

I don't know about goat meat, but I'd say you could use it too.

What does goat taste like??????????

I made some rabbit snack sticks last year, they were okay but think the meat would have been better used for a dinner course rather than snack sticks.

After waking up this morning, off to hunt, worked the draw again to pick up 3, I said 3 sliders. Giving that him and his girlfriend were looking to harvest a few birds, I took the left side (high stomp ground) and moved on.

First one I kicked up, I shouted "bird in the air" , and nothing.... :hu

It flew right, and nothing, so I turned my left side shoot ask around and followed through, with respect to their air space. Waited..... Nothing ...... :barnie So I blasted a ask shoot as it was leaving my range.... He followed up a shoot some 5-10 seconds later, I was wondering what he was shooting at? :idunno

That was the first slider..... Two more would follow before we finished my suggestion of working the draw.

I like working draws when hunting inland game birds, they have shelter, food, and water. :pop

So we chased a ghost bird that he thought he shot, well maybe not, critters not killed tend to scramble off and hide.

Rolling my eyes, thinking what? I headed to another finger looking for a lift off by myself.

I kicked it around, finished the drive, and sat at the top end drinking some water. I had to go number one, and so started to do so, when one lifted just behind me...

I had my gun in my hand while my rifle was beside me, I don't think pee could kill a game bird. At that moment, I beg to differ......

I was able to harvest another ring neck, while my gun was put away... :gig

I didn't bag my limit today, but I learned hunting with city slickers that don't care isn't a good hunting practice.

Yes, I have since washed my hand, and it is clean... :yuckyuck

A friend of mine was predator hunting with a buddy and they were getting set up when he had to pee. Well, he walked over to a clump of bushes and proceded to relieve himself when something RAN OUT OF THE BUSHES AT HIM. If he hadn't already been peeing he surely would have then! Turns out he was relieving himself on a fawn that was bedded down in the bushes! I'd have paid money to see that.

Oh, by the way, how are the chickens? Haven't heard you talk much about them lately.

I had pulled the pan (cast iron) thats another new topic in good eats, from the stove when it caught fire.

I placed a dinner plate on top, and it went out.... The bacon in the pan wasn't fit to eat....

Mom cooked on a wood stove, there were many fires, one that was bad was when she was rendering lard.

The whole top was on fire in the kitchen, she grabbed some flour and it went out. Fires on the stove seemed like a by product of her cooking on a wood stove. Fires would happen, small as they were, and she just kept cooking.

I have been off hunting the last few days, and cooking slipped my mind, it was my turn to cook this evening. SO I was aiming for a breakfast dinner, and cooked another pound of bacon after cleaning the pan.

With pumpkin carving in full swing this evening, I finished the breakfast meal with style...

Oh, by the way, how are the chickens? Haven't heard you talk much about them lately.
The girls are doing great, I have since turned their perch steps around as you suggested, and at $1.75 a dozen for eggs they are paying for their keep as well as adding to my ss fund. What??.... Even if its .20 a dozen its a profit....

After building the smoker, which I think will be added funds, I think my ss fund is almost $40 dollars now. :ya

Call me a softy if you want, but I will not harvest any of these chickens. The agreement of me having a hunting dog and not harvesting any of these chickens is in full effect.

LOL.... I wonder what will happen in the next step when we have no eggs, and still keeping these chickens?

I don't think I will be enjoying and duck dinners anytime soon. I never knew hubby was such a softy!
