That ice looks so thick and chunky Java, that is weird. Our ice storms have always left the landscape smooth like water itself would lay. I wonder if that was from the wind? It looks like someone spilled sugar crystals all over your yard.

We have only a little more than a week until kidding.....I hope it melts for you before then. Thank goodness for your goat cam! Very smart!

SD - that's the ice that dropped off the trees after the wind started. It was truly weird. It's much easier to walk on than the stuff we had yesterday though.

Sounds like you had worse weather than us. We've had ice, but not too much build up. I've gotten out to work each day with no problem. Some who live NW of the office haven't gotten in though. QA's kids were home yesterday but only delayed today.

My kids didn't have school today either and we still had power when I woke up. My husband didn't have any trouble getting to work. I didn't want to go in and leave the kids home alone in case the power went out. They are old enough to stay home, but I have the option to work from home so I did. Most of the people in my office stayed home today.

Java, glad to hear you still have power to. That goat cam is awesome and I will have to get one when I get goats.

We had freezing rain last night but overnight it turned to rain so at least the ice is gone from most of the trees. Then the temp dropped and when the kids and I went out to take care of the animals we had to skate across the yard. It is so slippery out there. Be careful out there!

Nope, but one of their buildings is right next door. I work for Qwest Communications in Dublin.

And I'm only a few minutes from Quest! K- I didn't realize your hubby worked at the Dublin office :p Thought he was downtown.
The wind has kicked up and the ducks  have made a huge puddle under the trampoline that they are taking turns swimming in. (there's a warm spot in the ground near the wellhead) They don't seem to notice that it's bitterly cold.
