Needing a bit more than a sweat shirt today and tomorrow

But the storm moved on and it's not windy, snowing or icing :ya The kids went back to school today too.

:woot Perdy is due one week from today! She's doing very well for as large as she is. She is moving around and eating and has been very affectionate toward everyone.

Rory should go a couple days after. She's been more affectionate too, but still won't let me touch her belly. Stinker. Both of them are getting udder trims this weekend. They are hairy girls :D

An udder trim?? How does that work? Specially if you can't touch their belly's?

Hee-hee, I know! I'm going to drive everyone crazy :D

We put them on the milk/grooming stand for their haircuts. They can't get away, but it still isn't easy. Last weekend we trimmed their hooves and even on the stand it took both of us to hold them still. They are going to hate getting trimmed but they are so shaggy I don't want the kids getting lost in that forest  It's also to keep them clean.

I'll take the cold over the ice any day.

It will be nice to break up this dreary time with some excitement :)

Ugh, I left the chicken run door open last night so it wouldn't freeze shut again. (we have a small covered run to walk through to get to the coop, and it's where the food and water are) and the starlings found their way in. Now they are trying to find any little hole to get in. The dog is on 'get the birds' duty - she's quite thrilled to have a job to do since she's had zero exercise in the last week. So I send her out every 10 minutes or so to chase the birds off. Fun times

so SD... names you are considering please.....

java - do you have a naming strategy?

we usually go with Goat 1, Goat 2.. or This One and That One
;-)

actually i think we already picked out Pickles and Ice cream for Nibble's babies.. but i think we are gonna need a 3rd name by the looks of things...

no idea about Debbie's.. hum....

Grrr, the starlings found a hole. I had to go patch it up. There were about that got in just in the few minutes since I let the dog inside. The cats are on the job now.

 I love Pickles and Ice Cream!

I have no strategy. Just a list. A secret list  It's so secret, I can't remember what I put on it. Or where it is...I should probably find it...

Names! Yes! I'm picking Emilee for the first female. We thought Molly's name was Emilee when we first looked at them (Emilee is their mom at the breeders). So one will be Emilee. I'm spelling it that way in honor of my friend who sold me my gorgeous rabbits.

If I am lucky enough to get a second doeling, the name will be Ayla.

My kids went back to school today to, but with a 2 hr delay.

Brrrr is right, it is really cold, but the sun is out and that helps cheer me up a little.

I can't wait to see baby goat pictures! We will have goats this year, they just have to wait until I get the last of our debt paid off.
