Monday my boys left to head back to OKC. :( I already miss them. I just dont get to see them enough. While they were here, we utilized thier strength, and youth. ;) Got both of them to get on the house and get the Christmas lights down, clean the downspouts, and place fencing over the openings to keep those nasty birds from filling them with nests. I also got them to switch the downspout from the south side of my coop...to the north side, so the water barrell is closer to the main door. Hubby had them help him get the push mower cleaned and ready for summer, and the tiller. Now if we can get some dry weather, I will get my garden in....I hope.
Today I went to Orschelins. I have been saveing for cattle pannels and T posts. Finally had the money for 6 pannels, 20 T posts, and a gate. :D Plus, today being Tuesday, they have military discount. SWEET! It was hard walking past the little chicks and ducks. Of course I stopped, looked, informed someone there was no water in 3 of the pens, and there was a dead chick. :/ He was prompt at getting it out, and watering tho.
Got the everything loaded...and came home. It was a site I am sure...being that my S10 has a small bed, and the pannels were 16 ft long! LOL Made it home without a hitch. The neighbor was home, and she helped me unload them. All was going well, untill I tried to get the strap off. Somehow my pinky finger slid under the strap and was being pinched against the wire pannel. It took 4 of us to get my finger free. OUCH! Luckily its not broke, or dislocated...just really sore. Took a little break...then decided to use 2 pannels and a few T's to make a small outside pen for NElly and the babies. Once I got it done and turned them out, I sat and watched the babies jump and hop around in the grass. All the work, and pain, is so worth it to see little lambs frolicking in the fresh grass. :love I had to put chicken wire around the bottom...to keep the babies in. Tomorrow, IF we dont get rain....my son is coming out to help me build the hog pen. :) I can't waite to get it finished, and get my piggies in there.
I will be going next week to look for my apple and peach trees. I cant waite to get them in the ground..and growing. Persimmons, Apples, peaches, cherries, grapes, and various berries. Maybe next year...a strawberry patch. Hmmmmm.

Nothing...still fat, and happy I might add! I think she LIKES being pregnant..she doesnt want the babies here, then she will have to take care of them. Much easier being fat, cute, and pregnant. :rant
So, I have told her....fine...be that way...stay fat....all the other goats AND the sheep are pointing and laughing at your bulging sides! :/ To which she replied with a cute little baaaah....and ran out into the sunshine. So, another day, with no babies...but a very happy fat little goatie.

If this makes you feel any better, I have to wait a long time for alpacas to give birth. I even have actual breeding dates and they can give birth anywhere from 10.5 months to 12.5 months, mainly going 11-12 months.

I have a girl right now that came to my place at about 10.5 months pregnant and she is almost at 12 months and still hasn't given birth.

Wow. This pneumonia is really kicking my butt! I feel more like I have the flu..but cant breath. Body aches, and so tired...all I want to do is sleep.
Yesterday was a bad day. I was even more achy than normal...so when time came to close up the animals...the ducks didnt want to go in. I gave chase for a few minutes..then gave up. Unfortunately....something got my drake. :( My little hen has been calling to him all day today. It breaks my heart. I should have been a bit stronger about getting them inside. Dang! Im glad I have a few eggs in the bator, and I have been collecting them for a few days still, I will try to hatch out a few more.
Today...I did a little work outside..maybe if I do a little at a time I will gain my strength back.
I put Sonny, my Ram, in with the goats today. With the males. He was NOT happy..and neither were the goats! LOL I had to put thier mineral block up, so Sonny couldnt get it. They all gave chase for a while, then eventually settled down. I decided to let Nelly and the babies out in the pasture with April and Mary. Nelly was SO EXCITED to get out in the sunshine, with green grass.

The babies were chaseing each other, hopping, jumping...so cute. Little Mary was standing there, and Albert came under her and was trying to nurse! Silly Mary let him!! She has never been pregers..so no milk...but she sure loves those babies. Nelly quickly came running to let them BOTH know this was NOT acceptable. LOL Later I was watching them all, and the babies were chaseing Mary around in the pasture. So, I was OK with the decision on letting them all out together. This evening tho, I put Nelly and the babies back in the stall...for thier own safety. I will let them all out in the morning...I will be working on the goats fence most of the day. Maybe being out in the sunshine will do me good. As long as I take breaks, and drink lots of water....I should be fine.
