My ex son-in-law is a truck driver. Why couldn't it have been him?

I was thinking of yuns the other day, and than on the way home saw another truck that had a arched fence section in the bed driving down the road, and it made me giggle and think of you folks.

I planted my baskets taters before I left town, and returned home 10 times more tired than when I left. Looking to get settled after a safety deposit box in Dads name was brought into legal as to who owned the property or had access to it.

That was solved today, and looking forward to the contents and what they bring forward.

I am doing good, as can be expected. Checking in really to say hello and I am doing ok.

So, today started out OK...but...well, we know how THAT goes! :/
I ran into town to get a few things on my grocery list and some bedding for the coops. ( I plan to clean them this weekend) HA!
So, I am on my way to the feed store when my hubby calls. He wanted to know when I would be home...I tell him, in about 30 minutes or so... and I asked why. He said....I think I need to go to the ER. HU!?? He almost NEVER tells me that. Like, MAYBE 4 times in our 30 yrs together. His knee is swollen something bad...Gout. UGH! So, I grabbed the few things I needed quickly...and ran home to empty the truck and get him back to the ER. He can barely walk. So, I get him to the ER...and I can see that the rain is close....DRATS! I left the goats out in the pasture, without shelter. I get him settled at the hospital...and run back home...to let the goats in the barn. It had already rained some, and they were NOT ammused. :/ So, I get them settled....close the big barn doors...check on the chickens..and baby ducks...let the dogs out to potty, then back in with a treat...and back to town. My Mechanic called and said if I can get there soon, he can get my truck in today, for tire rotate, balance, and alignment. I have a vibration in the truck...and we think thats causeing it. So, ok, this wont take too long, and we all know how busy the ER is, and sooooo slow..so I decided to stop in and get the truck taken care of....while I can. He gets it up on the racks..and tells me..." come here, and look at this." Ohhhh no I say...any time you say that, its gonna cost me MORE! He said..really, you need to see this. So I get in there, and he shows me how my power steering pump is leaking..the front seal...so I need a new pump...soon....AND the front shocks are just about shot. DANGIT! I already know the back shocks are about shot..and was planning to get them done in a few weeks. DANG DANG DANG!! He said they would be OK for a little while....but not to haul too much untill I get them done. Just great...I can already see the money I want to make from MUTC, for my fencing...being whittled away. So, I get that done, and head to the hospital.Hubby is sitting there in a wheelchair...waiting. This new Dr didnt want to drain the fluids off...and instead wants to try to just treat it with meds. Ummmm, we KNOW it needs to be drained...so he can walk!! Hubby just agreed to this IDIOTS ideas. Guess he will have to suffer with it for a few days, and see if it works. In the meantime...hubby doesnt work. He is layed up in bed. I hope the meds work FAST!! He doesnt usually have trouble with the gout...this happens about once every 2 or 3 years. Oh well, no work out of HIM this weekend! LOL

So, there is NO RAIN in the forcast for a week!!!!:weee I am hopeing to get a few..ok, a LOT of things done this week.
FIRST on the agenda.......plant the garden...well...once the water drains off. LOL I also need to get the little crate/coop I have for the cornish painted..and a "window" out in for ventilation. Need to build another few brooders...ducks,turkeys...cant live together in the same brooder. Wet Turkeys...NOT happy! LOL
OK, so on the agenda for this week...lets see what I get to cross off, later.

1. Build 2 brooders ( get the turkeys and ducks seperated)
2. Paint the small coop/crate, add window.
3. Plant the garden
4. Mow
5. Build 3 sided shelter for the goats.
5. repair and paint mailbox post.
6. Weed spring garden...add paper and compost.
7. clean coops (x8)
8. Install cabinets, sink in summer kitchen.
9. Move dirt/gravel pile to the BIG garden(before planting)
That should keep me busy...LOL
Oh, and my friend that has milk goats...came over the other day to bring milk and get her eggs....she asked about the cornish....when is butcher time, how many will I sell...how much? I told her probably in 2 weeks or so, they will be ready. They are growing a bit slower due to me not pushing the feed like last time, and letting them "forage" for most of the daytime. She said she would like to buy whatever I dont want to keep...and said she would pay me $10.00 a peice for them...AND help butcher ALL of them! Woohoo! So, here is my plan...IF she comes through, and helps with all the butcher....and there are about 8 I can "sell" to her...I will only charge her $50. Thats $30 off, for helping butcher. Sound like a good deal?? We will be butchering 23 in one day...I hope. LOL This is why I MUST get my summer kitchen finished.
Oh, and while I am trying to get all this done....so much will be going on here.
Monday...Septic guy is coming back to level the ground he tore up while putting in the septic system last Dec. Computer guy is coming to HOPEFULLY fix my web issues....Roof guys are coming to tear off the entire top of the house, replace broken rafters, decking, tear out an old chimney, and reshingle. Of course that will take all week im sure. So I will have to work around these guys, and the dumpster. I am going to tell him, all the old decking that has to be replaced, I want him to save for me. Hopeing there is quite a bit, I can use it for the goats shelter. :)
I am hopeing hubby will be back on his feet early this week, so he can help. He is off all this week...and I sure could use the help getting it all done. Wonder what those neighbor kids are doing this week!?? LOL

Wow sounds like you have a busy week ahead - hope you get everything done that you want to get done. That sounds like a good deal for both of you on the cornish.

What a beautifull day!!!!! It was partly cloudy..warm, with a breeze. The sun would come out, and just about the time I would start getting really warm...clouds come in, and the breeze would blow. Then a cool down...and the sun would poke back out. PERFECT for working outside. Sooooooo....I started with the mailbox. It was in pretty bad shape..rotten wood, peeling paint..just YUK looking. So I headed out with my trusty rusty pry bar, battery drill, hammer, nails, screws, paint scraper, and paint. Tore it all apart...went back to the shop...measured and cut new wood...I got to use the table saw..and STILL have all my fingers!! Back to the mailbox...put it all back together, painted and almost finished. Had to run into town for the numbers to go on it, and letters. Tomorrow, I am mixing my cement and taking some bricks out there, to put around the bottom. :D

So, then I worked on the Cornish coop....I was able to get 2 windows in...tomorrow, I paint!!

Very nice.....isn't it nice when you can cross stuff off the list. My list is getting longer by the minute too....Love the mailbox! I'm envious....we don't have one yet. :p

MAKEING the list hurts...I just cringe when I think of something else to add...but, crossing things off...what a feeling! It wont be long Lori..that mailbox will be in the ground..and happily greeting your new postal delivery person. ;) Just remember....DONT plant flowers around it. My deliverer was telling me how he HATES to deliver to mailboxes with flowers...it means BEES! He gets stung quite often. :/
