I like them, but with any rubber ringed lids, you have to really watch that they are in there properly. Out of the 9 pints I did, 3 of the the rubber rings failed. ( my bad, I rushed it) But, we are having a cookout this weekend, so I put them in the fridge.
I really like the fact that they are reusable...and if taken care of properly..they work well, and will last a long time. Thats about all I use any more. I do still have several boxes of the metal ones....I will use them up on the meats when I can them.

So we finally got some rain! Whew! It was much needed. I can almost hear my garden sigh. Puddles everywhere...and the ducks couldn't be happier. No big plans for today....I guess I will get a few loads of laundry going.....after I get back from town. Need to hit up the grocery for a few items. Come on Harvest!!

Woke this morning to 59 degrees! NICE!! It is only supposed to be in upper 70's today. We sure needed the reprieve from the heat. Everyone here has been in a touchy mood, partly because of the heat...partly because we are coming up on the one yr mark on losing our son. ( June 18th)
We decided to not have a BIG memorial....just hubby, me, DS2 and his wife and 2 kids, DS3, and DD and her hubby. Keeping it more personal.
I am planning to get in the garden today, I have to get some fencing up around the small garden today. That darned goose is terrorizing it! Since the weather is going to be nice, it wont be such a chore.
I need to move a Lilac bush.....maybe today will be a good day for that as well. I had planted it on the North side of the house....and it never blooms. Guess it needs more sun.
Well, it is almost 9 am, and I need to get busy here. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

So, as the day draws to a close...dinner is finished...the guys head back Hubby to take out the trash, and my DS3 to lock up the birds. Now....before I go too much further....let me tell you, DS is 27, staying here for another week or so. He came up from OKC when I had my surgery. He has been careing for the animals while I was down. So, out they go....Now I have one little RIRx rooster, just under a year old...but full of himself...to some people. Not me...he runs from me. However, my son? Oh boy....Jr has my son totally buffalo'd I encourage my son....just throw your arms in the air, and scream! That little rooster will run like a bobcat is on his tail. ( well, works for me) SO, confidence all built up, he heads over to round up the chickens....when I hear..." GET BACK, YOU STUPID ROOSTER, Why I will kick you....MOM!!!!!!!!!! " I head out the door, and poor Jr is on his way for round 2, or 3...either way...rooster is winning! I walked over, Jr saw ME coming, and high tailed it to the coop! My poor son...he is convinced we need to eat that rooster.
I come back inside...and now I hear my son out there talking back to the goose, who is NOT happy about being locked in before dark. LOL I hear hissing, and honking...as I look out the window, I see the goose going in her pen, but LOUDLY! :gig
What a great ending to a beautiful day! Time for some coffee, and a good sit on the porch to watch the sun go down.
