So, in other words, you'll get paid to lay around and do nothing? Sweet!

So, I went and applied...and next Wednesday through Friday, I will be working with the Military, as a "victim" of some sort of disaster.
yay!! i think that is the best thing going. you'll have to tell us all about it - yipeeee!!!

i've been milking early also - just to hot to stand next to a hot goat. them gals have learned to step lively... just like the dogs.. if they dont come when i call they'd better run FROM me.

and actually debbie did a couple of times. it didnt turn out the way she thought it would.. hum... turns out not only am i The Boss Of Her - i'm also as fast as a cheetah and these hands- not-hooves can make a nice leg trap in which to catch runaway goats. ha!

 Are you going to be playing a victim of heat stroke? Cool job.

Suzie will probably be very confused - mine are when I change the schedule - but it shouldn't affect the output by much if at all. One day when I had to milk an hour early the goats just looked at me as if to say "excuse me, but I haven't finished this cud yet, go away now" and then I had to drag them to the stand. They are really attached to their schedule!
 More than likely the heat will be the worst part! I really like to do this in the fall...but, Have to go on THEIR schedules. LOL
I hope Suzie still loves me after all this.

OK, so I thought I Was going to be a smarty pants, and get out there this morning and get soooo much done. Oh, I did, opened the coops, barn, fed everyone, watered everyone, and milked. After watering the pig...( no it doesnt make her grow) I decided since I was dragging the hose past the garden I would lay it in the rows, and water, then I noticed all the weeds....so, I got on my hands and knees, and started ripping out those darned weeds. HA! I mastered them in less than 30 minutes. Took all the weeds to the pygmy buck, he was happy...rinsed off, and put away all the hoses. Hubby was getting ready to run the weed eater, so I hopped on one of the lawn tractors, to get a head start on the mowing. I was about half way through MY part....when I noticed...my hands were stinging...then my knees were stinging. Thinking I just didn't rinse off well enough, I came inside, washed my legs and hands, then headed back outside. As long as I was in the shade, I was alright, but as SOON as the sun hit me, YEOUCH! I came back inside...and started looking my hands and legs over really good. Red, swollen, itchy/burning...... Stinging nettles!!!! UGH!!!!!!! So, I got online and did a search. I read a few articles that said, baking soda and water paste works to neutralize the nettles. So, I slathered it on...it felt great going on, but as soon as it dried, it burned again! SO, I slathered it on again, and sat inside for about 30 minutes. Eventually the stinging let up enough I could finish mowing. Wow! Came inside, made supper, and now I have to go milk, and close everyone up....Then a cool shower. Hot water makes it burn. ( learned that while washing dishes) I guess next time I get in that garden I will wear gloves to pull weeds. I HATE NETTLES!!!!! :rant

Ouch!!! Poor you. I found some of those last season. I won't make that mistake again. Last week I mush have pulled weeds with a wasp. I got bit in the palm of my hand and ended up with a nasty, itchy blister, bite thing. Drove me nuts.

Feel better.

Funy, the only spot that still really bother me....my middle finger. Guess I can use THAT as an excuse to flip people off. " I was showing you my nettles"

We have lots of nettles in our barnyard. When my two oldest boys were younger, they used to take off their shirts and have nettles fights :ep

You know stinging nettles are VERY edible. People say they are not only nutritious they are delicious! More than one way of getting rid of them. :p ;)

FF, when I was researching the best remedy to rid myself of the pain, I saw several options to eat them. Ummm, no thanks. I could almost feel that burning in my tummy just thinking of eating them. Oh, I know, you boils them to get rid of the ickies, but MY luck, I wouldn't do it right, and they would sting inside me for like forever! LOL

Vickie....those boys are either some very tough boys, or just slightly off there, LOL

As I sit here this morning....I hear chirping in my bathroom...turkeys are hatching! SWEET! I think there are 5 out of the dozen I put in there. But, 5 are better than nuttin!
I went out this morning, and there was some sort of attack on my ducks last night. My ONLY female Pekin has been attacked on her back...and one duck is missing. I found the body of another duck yesterday morning. THIS MEANS WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
