Actually, it's been a 2.5 hour drive, not 3

Since we aren't moving now, I'm going to start cleaning my largest coop for The First Ladies...which would be the bantam coop...We're kicking the bantams out into a covered run with smaller coops.. :p

If it works out that you get to move and keep Sam and the Ladies, then I'll just put some other chickens back in that coop.

DH has just left for work. It is so beautiful outside tonight - it is 73 now (10:45pm) and the sky is F I L L E D with twinkling stars. I think we even reached mid-80s this afternoon. :D

We called about a place today. It is the same place we left a message for yesterday after church - 2 bedroom 1 bath, basement with washer/dryer. Rent was reasonable, even with a dog. Well I asked the guy when we could see it and when would it be available. He said we could see it anytime. He has renters in there now that have not resigned their lease for another year. So the place would be available Aug 15 or Sept 1 - depending on if us coming to look at the place spurs them on to sign another lease. I think this is a nasty way to behave. Sure you want them to sign the lease, but don't use us to make it happen! Scum. So we told him no thanks.

An elderly woman in the village that goes to our church is still looking for a couple or family to live in her separate basement apartment. However, she is allergic to animal dander, so that won't work for us.

Today I baked the last loaves of bread here at the farm. It is kind of sad and kind of exciting all at once. I am ready for a new chapter in my life's adventures. I made whole wheat egg bread.

I got some money today for surveys I completed in July - $16. I have enough MyPoints to get another gift card, but I think I will wait and get a large gas card this time.

We tried to cook hamburgers on the grill this afternoon, but dh said they fell apart when he flipped them. So Titan got those for lunch. Instead we had coleslaw and corn on the cob. We had oven baked fish for dinner.

DH and I just finished re-reading YOU: On A Diet, The Owners Manual For Waist Management by Dr Michael Roizen. While we were at the library on Saturday, dh found the pbs show on dvd, so we watched that this afternoon. Very good material, and I recommend it, if you havent read the book or seen the pbs presentation. Dr Roizen is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic, and is co-founder of RealAge. He has written a series of YOU books. YOU: Are You As Young As You Can Be was his first book, I think.

DH is off work for the next few days. Along with everything we NEED to get done, we are hoping to sneak in some fishing.

Beautiful weather yesterday, with a bit of rain in the afternoon. Busy searching with no luck. Took a break and went fishing last night, but didn't catch anything except some teeny perch. Had to have steak for dinner as a result. :D

I think the appliances are sold. We didn't buy them with the farm and so we didn't sell them with the farm. This house is too large without furniture. :/

I had one last small bag of peaches to process, and found they had freezer burn. So they went to the Ladies and Sam.

Today I am checking on u-haul rates - it appears The Ladies and Sam and their belongings will be moving to Quail_Antwerp's very soon. :)

Coming to the end of a chapter in life is bittersweet. I understand that feeling.

When we left our home of nearly 10 years it was hard but exciting to finally be done with it. The final good bye is still hard.

I am glad that Sam & the Ladies will be headed of to QA's place, at least you can rest assured that they will be loved and well cared for :)

My biggest coop I have is my bantam coop...The tenants in that coop are not happy with me as I informed them that they are being evicted to make room for new tenants

I know that Sam and The Ladies are used to a large barn, and plenty of space, so I am working today on getting my largest coop ready for them.

I am also looking forward to visiting with you, keljonma, and hoping it won't be our last visit.
