We got hit with hard rain and a HAIL storm today. Hail didn't last long and was the size of dried lentils. :D

TR got the pilot light going again on the hot water tank. He could not find any blockage. But I thought he said there was a draft down there in the basement. So maybe that is our problem.

At the library trying to get caught up on emails.

We had baked potatoes with bacon crumbles, sour cream, salsa, cheese, broccoli and cauliflower for dinner. We haven't had baked potatoes in ages.

There was a health fair at the hospital today. TR brought home a bunch of great information. And about 10 lunch bag packages of Fig Newtons. :D

Kel really believe me that is probably what it is. When the unit starts up and if there is any blockage it will instantly shut off.

I found it hard to believe as well but that was the problem with BOTH my hot water heater and D1's furnace. You should at least check it out.

AND... if you happen to have a good do-it yourself chicken guillotine plan lying around let me know! We will develop it and get it on the site!

Never mind I just noticed he already checked the flu. (blushing)

BBH, I think by sugar cookies, xpc means the Russian Teacakes. The recipe is here. Reinbeau posted a scaled down recipe. :D

xpc, if there is another sugar cookie recipe you are talking about, it escapes my memory at the moment.
:gig Yeah, I'll bet that is the one he is talking about too. That's a lot of cookies!! Thank you!

22 last night; 29 as of 8:30am. Our high temp is supposed to reach 50 today. The rain has stopped and the sun is shining! :celebrate

Laundry and cleaning the church kitchen today. Taking another load of stuff to the farmhouse as well. I am hoping we will be out of the old place by Sunday, but we have until the 15th to be completely out. TR is working every day, so I'm not getting as much done as quickly as I would like. I may have to break down and ask friend Pat if I can borrow her jeep and trailer again. :(

Stove at the farmhouse is not working properly. So I have to investigate that this week-end. Top burners work, broiler seems to work, but oven is not heating up. :he

Have a great day!

Sounds like a lot of work Kel, but I am happy that you found a place that is more suited to you and Tr.

Still waiting on those pics ;)....not like you are busy or anything!

Wednesday - Nov 11, 2009 - Armistace Day, Veterans Day....

I am at the library checking emails and ss. We finally moved the last of our stuff out of the mobile home on Tuesday. Now I am wading through boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes of stuff! TR had Tuesday off and is off this week-end.

The Men's class from church is coming over on Saturday to spackle and paint the living room, dining room, and entryway. They are also going to replace some broken glass. We just have to buy the paint and the glass. We found a bunch of good window glass in the attic of the farmhouse, so we will just have the new windows cut from the old glass. I have a coupon from Sherwin-Williams for paint, so that will help. :D

We mentioned the stove situation at church after we moved into the farmhouse. Some one at church heard about it, and *gave* us a stove and refrigerator on Monday. God is soooo good to us! :bow These folks had a rental house and when the tenants moved out, they left the refrigerator and stove. Both appliances needed cleaned, but both are in complete working order. :bun :weee :ya :woot :clap :celebrate Can you tell I am happy?

TR took out some carpeting in the sun room because the last tenants left a horrific case of fleas. Poor Titan is having a rough time! We will be bombing the house, as TR used some industrial flea kill spray and it didn't help. :he

Gotta go read what is going on with everyone else.....
