Hard to say Deb....where are you located? Seriously, TR is willing to help anyone in need of assistance, providing they are somewhat near by. [I asked him - that was his exact response.]

TR got home from work this morning about 4:30. He slept until 9am and then woke up with a slight cold. So, he is "eucalyptus oil boy" today. :D

He slept a bit after breakfast, so I went out and purchased more Puffs and some tomato soup, as we've eaten all that I canned last year. We had soup and sandwiches for lunch, then I went to church for Mary/Martha.

We have 10 small quilts ready for binding and today we finished a large quilt that is ready for binding as well. We started working on another small quilt, but didn't get it finished before our time was up, so will have to finish it next week. Pauline sewed a group of squares together for 3 more quilts for us to work in the future.

We are down to 15 prayer shawls and 30 baby caps, so Millie and Cindy were making some today. Pauline is working on a baby afghan and also beginning the quilt we are making for our Associate Pastor, Quincy.

Doreen told us that 50 women attended last Saturday's ALL-DAUGHTER Luncheon; which was more than the 40 that had RSVP'd. I knew we were going to be at QA's last Saturday, so I didn't plan on attending. There are usually door prizes at the A-D event, This year each place setting got a small bag of homemade goodies, including herbal teas, chocolates and a magnet.

Jeff and his wife, who are members of our church, own the local florist shop. Jeff provided a presentation of flower arranging to the group, which I understand was a big hit. He started with a large bowl, which he said represented the Bible. Then each piece he added to arrangement represented something else (the disciples, the 10 commandments, the fruit of the spirit). Then Jeff added the baby's breath last, and asked what everyone thought they represented. He got lots of answers, but said they represented faith and prayer. [TR calls baby's breath Angel's Teeth, so that would have been my guess. ]

Anyway, another productive and fun day at Mary/Martha.

TR is at work now. I haven't decided what to do this evening. Maybe I'll work on the quilt somemore.

We are at 64 and the sun only shone for 5 minutes between rain and thunderstorms. The rain has stopped for the moment, but storms are forecast for tonight as well. Everyone here is just sick of the wet weather and praying for sun. :D

I love the smell of lilacs. Tried to get some starts going from my late grandmother's huge purple lilac bush, but they fell victim to my son learning to mow with the garden tractor.

Looking outside watching it rain some more. If this rain had been snow, how deep would it be? :D

Five Feet High And Rising
Songwriter: Johnny Cash

How high's the water, Mama?
Two feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Papa?
She said, "Two feet high and risin'

We can make it to the road in a homemade boat
'Cause that's the only thing we got left that'll float
It's already over, all the wheat and the oats
Two feet high and risin'

How high's the water, Mama?
Three feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Papa?
She said, "It's three feet high and risin'

Well, the hives are gone, I've lost my bees
The chickens are sleepin' in the willow trees
Cow's in water up past her knees
Three feet high and risin'

How high's the water, Mama?
Four feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Papa?
She said, "It's four feet high and risin'

Hey, come look through the window pane
The bus is comin', gonna take us to the train
Looks like we'll be blessed with a little more rain
Four feet high and risin'

How high's the water, Mama?
Five feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Papa?
She said, "It's five feet high and risin'

Well, the rails are washed out north of town
We gotta head for higher ground
We can't come back till the water goes down
Five feet high and risin'
Well, it's five feet high and risin'

These lilacs were what is left of lilacs planted by the landlords grandparents in the early 1900's.

Flood by Jars of Clay

When I'm falling
When I'm dying
When I'm drowning
When I'm-lift me up

Rain, rain on my face
It hasn't stopped raining for days
My world is a flood
Slowly I become one with the mud

[chorus]
But if I can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the thrashing waves
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall with the oh, oh
Lift me up-when I'm falling
Lift me up I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up-I need You to hold me
Lift me up-keep me from drowning again

Downpour on my soul
Splashing in the ocean, I'm losing control
Dark sky all around
I can't feel my feet touching the ground

[chorus]

Calm the storms that drench my eyes
And dry the streams still flowing
Cast down all the waves of sin
And guilt that overthrow me

[chorus]

Lift me up-when I'm falling
Lift me up-I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up-I need You to hold me
Lift me up-keep me from drowning again

how about this one...

Sail on
When the water gets high
Sail on
When the wind starts to die
Sail on
It's just a matter of minutes
Till His ship comes to get us
And we'll all get in it

When we're all born
We set out to sea
Looking for answers continuously
Then when we find out
To Him we belong
We watch for the signs
And keep sailing on

(Chorus)
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/i/imperials/sail_on.html ]
Cast up your sails
And let the wind blow
Jesus will never
Let your ship lose control
Just keep your compass set on the Son
And He'll guide you safely
To His beautiful Home

We can't afford to throw our lives
To the wind
To the wind
We've got the Lord
In control of our ship
And He'll guide us safely in
He'll guide us in

(Chorus)
