The storm went through here and my garden got a good watering. Now I am waiting for it to dry out so I can finish planting. A friend of mine has pics on facebook where lightning hit a tree within a few feet of her house.

Was quite the show this morning, all is good here.

I had just arrived at work when it hit there. I stood on the ground floor of the parking deck, with my eyes closed, listening to the rain and and thunder, and smelling the scents that can only come with a hard summer rain. For a few moments, I thought I was on the front porch of my grandparents farmhouse overlooking the front half of the farm. I had a smile on my face all morning.

Hope you all are safe and sound.

We are good, just some branches and leaves all around.

Last night I washed the plastic containers that TR put the hummer syrup in before refrigeration. Plan was to make more syrup this morning, let it cool and refill the containers. So I left the containers on the drain board at the sink.

While I was upstairs closing windows, the wind came through the kitchen windows and the containers were all over the kitchen and dining room floors! The curtains were standing straight out from the curtain rods.

WHAT A STORM! The rain was coming in on all sides - east, west and north, so I ended up closing all the windows. The smaller garden containers were tipped over on the deck, but the plants seem okay.

Had to go to the library to do some genealogy research today, so wasn't home most of the day and got pretty much nothing else done.

Our library has a year-round book sale. Today I bought a hardback book for 50 cents called To Bee or Not to Bee: A Book for Beeings Who Feel There's More to Life Than Just Making Honey by John Penberthy and illustrated by Laurie Barrows. This is not a beeking book; I may posts parts of it from time to time. :p

The temps were up to 91 by the time I got home from the library (about 2:30-ish); you can bet I rushed to get those windows open again!

There is a lot of construction between our place and the hospital where TR works, so today I asked him to show me another way to get home without getting stuck in traffic for what seems like forever. Although it added 10 minutes to the trip, at least it gives me another route home if I need it.

The temp this evening is 82, that's 86 with the heat index, and 64% humidity. Forecast is not predicted more rain until Thursday for us.

TR is at his last Disciples Bible study tonight. He took Appetizer Franks for the Love Feast.

What a great image, FJ!

Hey, Becca! Don't feel bad; since we don't have tv, I only saw a small blurb on the internet news headlines. We didn't even think about this effecting TR's sister.

Some of those lightning pictures are spectacular! Glad to hear your SIL is doing ok. I also had not heard about that eruption.

Yesterday, the thermometer hit 95 with 65% humidity. It was just a hot-sticky-drink-two-pitchers-of-green-tea kind of day. The kind of day I wish my hair wasn't down to my waist. :D I wear it up so often lately, I might as well go ahead and make that appointment to get it cut.

Our forecast is calling for thunderstorms today, tomorrow and Saturday with temps between 70 and 90. Which imo will be a welcome change. :D

About 6am TR and I were eating breakfast on the back porch, and it was actually perfect outside, with a slight breeze and about 78. We were watching and listening to the lightening and thunder show for about 10 minutes, when it started to drizzle. I drove TR to work today so I could have the car. Closer to Lake Erie, it was raining pretty hard; but by the time I got back home, the rain had stopped.

TR is working today, off Friday, working Saturday and Sunday and off Monday. Friday morning he is helping build a ramp for the Faith In Action ramp project. And Friday evening he will be helping Neil weed-whack at church.

Then this week-end is RELAY FOR LIFE, so TR is figuring out how to walk at night and still be ready for work the next morning. TR reached 70% of his fundraising goal for the walk; but his team has raised almost $5000!

Have fun!
