Have you got a plan for dealing with a potential bear when you get your bees? We've had a couple on our road and I'm certain from the decimated raspberry bushes that we were personally visited. I'm giving the future hive some careful thought. :/
I saw that article. There was one not far from us last year, too. Right now, we are completely fenced, so we dont get much in the way of predators (knock wood).

I've read in Bee Culture that some beeks in bear country out west use electric fencing.
Good idea. My garden has one around it-most likely put the hive inside of it.

Wish I could have met up with ya all!! Next time...I just need a little more warning so I can make sure that I do not put my sewing projects off to the last minute.s
