Oh, I agree, we are not getting anything new until we move in and get the other house on the market. We should have enough money leftover that we can safely pay the bills for one year, maybe more.

We are definitely waiting to see what we have leftover budget wise before we make a decision. I am thinking of cutting it back from 6 to 3 so that we can go with a smaller barn (like a horse run-in type barn.)

Sunday

Well, hubby worked all day yesterday by himself and got all the staples pulled up from the kid's bedrooms and laid out the floor for both rooms. He said it should go in pretty easy without many cuts. I got up this morning and changed all the bed linens and I am washing everything before I head over there to work on the cabinets.

We had a monster storm yesterday afternoon and lost power for about 8 hours or so. After the rain passed the kids were still able to get in the pool for a bit and play but it was hot when we went to bed last night. The power finally came back on around 10:30 or so but by then the kids had sweat puddles in their beds

Our HVAC guy is coming today to hook up everything and check out our system to make sure everything is in good working order. He's like Chad's brother, they grew up together a few doors down from each other. He's supposed to be bringing his DD to play so that will be good for the kids.

Hopefully I can get the cabinet doors primed and the first coat of paint done today. Chad's mom is coming up to help us this weekend and I think we may go curtain shopping. I still need to get the bathrooms painted but we may wait until we get electricity cause one has no windows and is pretty dark.

Should be 2 weeks when the electric is hooked up. :fl hopefully sooner.

Lori: I was thinking about you yesterday while gardening.

My opinion is that you and DH should forgo any more discussions about goats or cows. You both have enuf on your plate with moving, selling, fixing, working, "mother", new stuff, etc to have your marriage be inpacted by animals - At This Point in your life.

When you are moved in, when you have had time to breathe, when the children are fully settled into the new routines, only then can you begin to broach the subject of cows, goats, chickens, bunnies, turkeys, pigs, etc etc. I believe at that point, the man will be able to see that your desire for all the good that comes from a few goats, and that you are fully capable of being 100% responsible for them, will turn the tide.

Patience is a virture, especially when it comes to a stubborn man and how a woman works around him, thru him and with him. :)

JMO.

love ya, darling...

Yeah, I know....we are hoping that in 2 weeks we'll have electricity and we'll get our occupancy permit and move on.

I have to let the woman at Cornerstone Farm know something cause she is boarding the six goats for me right now. She has refused to take any money from me for board cause she understands the situation and I am thinking of telling her that we will only take the original three but it will definitely be at least 2 more months and that if she wants to sell them to someone else then that is fine.

tuesday

well, yesterday I splurged on a sprinkler and slip n slide for the kids. They had a good time, the heat index yesterday was like 100 or so. I have to go over to the farm today to take water to the construction crew that will be starting the stone work today....with no electricity we don't have water for them to mix the mortar. Hubby called BIL next door and asked if we could fill some barrels at his house and he called back and wanted to know exactly how much water we wanted and how we were going to get it. What an a$$!!! Hubby sent him a text and said don't bother.

We borrowed some 5 gallon buckets from a neighbor and two big coolers and I am going to fill up some rubbermaid containers too and drive them over there today. It's supposed to be 10 degrees cooler so I am going to try to get the first coat of paint on the cabinet doors....only 13 more to go and I'm done. I counted up that I have 24 cabinet doors and 6 drawer fronts. My granny loved her kitchen cabinet space! :p

We decided to plant our fruit trees all lined up in a row 6 inches inside of our property line as sort of a screen. I hope my blueberry bushes get 10 feet tall.... :plbb

I feel you on the heat. This past weekend the heat index was 106. The humidity was so high that when I walked outside I was dripping wet in a matter of seconds. I can not imagine how I would have survived it without all the fans and ac running wide open.

Sounds like you have a lot going on.

Heres wishing you 10' fast growing blueberry bushes.

:D Thanks Wanda!

Well, today is my 35th birthday and I woke up to one kid with a nosebleed and one throwing up. PARTY TIME!!!! :bun

Anyway, they're both fine now and I am making chocolate chip pancakes and drinking some coffee while the laundry is washing. My MIL is coming up today and is staying til Sunday so that will be fun, I actually LIKE my MIL. :p

I have to take the kids to story time today and then run by the house to see how the stone workers are doing. They brought everything yesterday and got the screen stuff put on the house and will lay everything today, then it is off to TSC for dog food and back home to bake bread and wait for MIL.

I am planning on fixing mexican for dinner, one of my favorites. Gonna do some chicken in the pressure cooker with taco seasoning and then use the water from that to make some rice to go with it. Shred the chicken and add some salsa, cheese, corn and maybe some black beans on a tortilla and YUM!!!

I am really sore today, for some reason my knees are really hurting, I started yesterday and sometimes that makes me a little achy so maybe that's it. I told hubby last night that when all this is over and we get settled I am soooooo doing a cleanse to get all this JUNK out of my system.

Well, off to eat pancakes and hang out laundry!
