Happy Birthday, Lori! Hope it was a grand one! I guess it must be a sign of aging when you can't remember your own birthday!
Just kidding, ya know! ;)

 I'm surprised I can remember ANYTHING these days !

Well, got the curtains hung up in the living room and kitchen, put up curtain rods in both the kid's bedrooms but forgot the curtains so I'll get those Monday, got the lattice up on the bottom of the deck, laid the glass tile on the fireplace(it looks FABULOUS!!!), finished all the touch up paint, watered all the trees, cleaned a bit, ordered curtains for master and master bath, repotted tomatoes, and stocked some groceries at the new house since we have the fridge going.

Busy day.

Tomorrow I am staying home with the kids cause the heat index is supposed to be over 100. We have a Adams family picnic tomorrow afternoon at 3 so that will be fun if we don't melt.

Chad is going to borrow his uncle's tractor and backfill some of the low spots around the house and grout the tile. He said he may get started digging the footers. Our electrician should come hook up the well pump early this week and the plumber is coming by to be there when we turn on the well pump to the house just in case anything goes wrong.

Still got to get transition strips for all the doorways but I'm gonna let hubby pick those out. I want to get started painting the bathrooms but it's just too hot right now. Maybe when the HVAC guy hooks everything up we'll get started on that :D

I plan on doing a separate thread with before and after pics of everything so yes, there will be pics, just be patient with me. I have a plan.

Going to go read Farmer Boy for a bit and then collapse. Goodnight everybody!

I love that book!~!! :clap

Sounds like you had a great day and got a lot accomplished. I think waiting for the AC to paint is a great idea.

Wednesday

So I got the curtains put up in the kids bedrooms yesterday and they are really cute. Hubby grouted the glass tile on the fireplace surround and it looks fabulous! The deck on the back of the house should be finished today. Still trying to get HVAC out there to hook up the ac unit. Still no water....electrician came to hook up the well pump and has to get another breaker box for it. grrrrrr

Things are rolling along and we may try to get the playground stuff moved over this weekend. I also bought ceiling fans for all the bedrooms yesterday cause the only room in the house that has a ceiling fan is the living room.

On a sad note, my papa's father had some sort of attack Monday and had to be rushed to the hospital. I haven't heard from my mom yet what exactly happened so I'm still waiting to see if I need to go up there or not.

Still waiting to see what will hatch with my light brahma hen. I've been peeking in on her every day and making sure she has water. They should be getting close to hatching. I found one egg that was cracked open and had a duckling in it but it was very small and already dead. She should be getting close to hatching out those babies......can you tell I'm excited!

The black runner should hatch hers out about a week after the brahma and I have 3 more weeks to go with the chocolate runner's nest.

I am currently battling my stubborn 3 yr old to clean up her juice from the floor. I refuse to wipe it up, she did it on purpose.

Once I get the laundry done and on the line we are all going to go outside and clean the durango. It's gross. Inside and out.

Been really achy lately and I'm trying to figure out what's going on. My knees have been really bothering me.

I found out that one of Chad's cousins homeschooled all her children and her youngest just graduated. She said to call her anytime I needed help cause she's been doing this since 1985! It's nice to know that I have someone to mentor me. She made me feel a lot better about my decision and I think hubby was surprised.

Anyway, gonna try to recouperate a bit today....I definitely need it. :/

I've got duck eggs hatching!!! :weee

I went down to lock up the birds tonight and looked in on my broody brahma who is sitting on a dozen or so indian runner eggs and I have one that is about halfway out of the egg and another that has broken open a small hole (I guess that's pipped?) She pecked the heck out of me when I tried to move her over a bit to see if she had any others already out cause I heard peeping!!! Didn't see any others but called out the kids and Chad so they could see the progress and then locked her up for the night.....hopefully I'll wake up to more babies in the morning!!!

I'm so excited!!! :ya

I woke up to find 5 little fuzzy butts and one halfway out.....looks like 4 blacks and one chocolate so far. The kids are super excited (and so am I!!!) and wanted to hold them. Tyler got pecked by mama brahma trying to reach in and get one of her babies. They are all snug....I reached under her to remove all the cracked eggshells I could find. She has at least 8 more eggs under her that I could see. Maybe by tomorrow they will all be hatched!!! I'll try to get a pic later so you can see all the fuzzies!!!

Here's a pic!
