Maybe they're talking about a microwave? Maybe they're going to nuke their honey.

You guys need to read up on your beekeeping! Nuc....like nucleus...as in a queen bee with brood/workers already established.

Went hunting this morning and nearly got blown out of the tree....saw one little deer this morning about 7am and it was running across the field.

I had a little spike within spitting distance last night....stood under my stand eating acorns for half an hour right at dark and trapped me in my stand. He blew a few times and trotted off and then circled back and stood under my stand for another 15 minutes before he finally blew several more times and moved off into the woods.

My dad killed a monster in the back yard last night....they were getting ready to start the grill on the back porch for dinner and daddy saw him and was able to get his muzzle loader set up in the house and went out and killed him.....big 8 or 9 pointer...shot him while he was standing in the garage!

You know you're a redneck when you shoot deer from INSIDE your house!!!

And also I do need to look up bee keeping. It's been lurking in the back of my brain for a bit. If I'm gonna have a big garden, I need to be able to pollenate it. And honey is always a bonus!

From inside the garage? While firing up the grill for dinner? Too funny!

In our last house we could see deer walk by in the open space and once in a while one dead in the road, but here in suburbia they would freak if someone
pulled out a rifle.

We had a friend whose grandma was about 85 or so. She used to take her rifle, her knitting and a lawn chair into her back yard. She would sit and knit until she got a good clean shot! Then she would go in and call a family member to clean it for her.

Every year her deer would beat my friends.

Is this your future Lori? ;)

 You couldn't do that sort of thing around here. I think the law is 450 feet from a residence in order to be able to hunt.

Probably.....

Does that mean I have to learn how to knit now???

I shot a turkey out of the garage at his house last year!!! This year they put up a feeder down in the bottom cause they see sooooo much game out back. Every morning when my mom leaves for work and shuts the back door she hears turkeys gobble. They have a big grape arbor out back too and one year she sent me pics of the turkeys up in the grape vines teetering on top.

They just planted 25 blackberry bushes this year and I have a feeling they'll be seeing a lot more deer!

What wonderful health report!

That seems a great price for nucs with a marked queen! We didn't get our queen marked this year; I'm not sure I'd order a marked one still. But I have a friend who has 20 hives, so he always gets the queens marked when he purchases them.

If you check around you will probably find that most beek mfging companies have great deals at year end.... I think Brushy Mountain does as well.
