Where ar our relations? and as far as the winds, all I got to say is suck it up! :D
Not really sure. I know when I was little, we went to visit my mom's relatives. I'm thinking they weren't too far from Niagara Falls. At least 1 of them was on a farm. I think the house my ancestors used to live in is now some kind of attraction. I know my mom and my aunt went up there a few years ago and brought home a bunch of pics of it.

We have those cold Canadian winds here too. :gig
Could you please take them back? I don't want them! :p
NO! But we are still gettig them, but then, we always get wind here. Hence the 78 or so wind turbines we have here--46 f which I can see from my property. You know, I have to suffer with these winds ALWAYS, so you guy can take a few days of it. :tongue
How do you like living with the windmills? We vacation in Kansas often as hubby and I both seem to like the open prairie and even the wind (of course I haven't tried that wind in January just yet! ) I love looking at all of the turbines. To me they are beautiful and restful and the knowledge that they are doing so much good is a great comfort.

I would love to have a wind/solar power combo here....my electric company just socked me with a "wholesale adjustment fee" again. 2 months ago I got hit with a $50 charge and last month I got none, then this past month I got hit with a $30 charge. My usage was only about $120 but my bill is $150.

So...today is a NO TV day. My 3 yr old woke me up at 7:15 by throwing the remote at me and demanding that I turn on the tv.

I. Don't. Think. So.

I'm babysitting again today....cousin's regular babysitter has a respiratory infection and a touch of diarrhea. I may have him all week at this rate. It's okay, he's a cutie but the kids will not leave him alone.

Chad got the doe cut up yesterday and put in the cooler but we are out of paper towels and there is no way I'm gonna be able to grind up a whole deer with a baby in my arms

probably gonna try to clean out the freezer and do some more chickens tomorrow too... if we don't freeze first

Say Lori, Make sure and keep ALL the chicken livers. They are packed with iron ;)
I have a few tricks for hiding the flavor if you need them.

Yes, liver makes me gag at the very least. I'll start a new thread :)

yep....me too :sick I'll make sure we save them.....

I just posted in Everything Else SS section about Brushy Mtn Bee Farm. They are having a free shipping month with orders over $100. I got all of the supplies for my 2 new hives for $231.25!!!

I'm so excited :celebrate

They'll be here in 7-10 business days!

Can't wait to see the look on hubby's face when THAT order comes in the mail.... :hide

He told me that if I wanted to order everything to just do it and that would be his xmas gift to me. He also got me Beekeeping for Dummies so I am set! I'll order my supers and queen excluders next xmas since I won't get any honey this coming year. I plan on having 2 deep hive bodies for the bees and a super on top so I can rotate the deep hive bodies in the spring. The supers will be honey for me.

I have been told to have another hive body on hand for the package of nucs, the gentleman that got them last year said that he had to add another deep hive body after 1 month.

I'm excited!!!
