I hear you loud and clear. BUT DO NOT go overboard.
Take care of the problem and let it be....seriously, shoot the dog, (as I would and have done) and dispose of yourself.
Done deal, dog gone and your animals are safe.
No need to ever make it more than needed. Obviously the man doesn't care right? So "cleaning up the dead dog" is only going to cause more problems than EVER NEEDED.
Just do what you must and let it go.
I do that all the time....
Lucky for me, no fee to drop off a dog. Had a nice lab visiting, pup almost, but I was told the neighbor way over on the other roads didn't care if it was loose. I caught it easily, loaded it in the car and off to the pound where they took it......done deal and over.
So if you can take it and want too, then fine. If not, shoot and be done and don't drag it out any further.
If anyone asks, you don't know a thing....loose dogs always evidently disappear..HA HA HA
