Ooh just had a bobcat standing way too close to the barn for our liking, staring at DH while he did chores. Glad my animals are locked in the barn. I don't think he'll mess with Stanley but I don't like him being there one bit.

Yikes! That definitely makes ya uneasy - for sure! Stanley is probably safe - it would be a pretty stupid bobcat to take on a boar. I've seen Big Daddy flip Cowboy through the air....and when I say through the air... I mean through the air, flipped him end over end and he was about 6 foot high....and I'm not exaggerating a bit! Sure wish I coulda recorded that one!

Oh my gosh! I bet it was funny once you knew Cowboy was ok lol!

We aren't legally allowed to shoot bobcats here. So, he's now been in the general vicinity of gunshots so we hope that keeps him away. He's a big one.

He hit the mud - got up - and looked around to see if anybody saw him get put in his place, lol. Of course it really could have been terrible if he'd have hooked him with a tusk instead of just using hi whole head and flipping him up....whew!

Hope the bobcat gets the hint!

That is scary! What can you guys (legally) do to deter them, or get rid of them?

Oh jeez, LOL Our Nguni bull did that to my first pig, years ago when I was pregnant with DS. Who said pigs can't fly? ;) She was alright except for a smallish laceration on her neck where one of the horns caught her. She didn't mess with the cows again.

Nope, we don't have a paint gun. I also live about a mile from a fish and game officer so I'll just go ahead and leave Mr. Bobcat alone lol

And not much, I think you'd have to get a permit to get rid of it. I believe fish and game's stance is, lock up your animals and/or get a guardian animal.

And DH found fresh coyote tracks this morning. Right in the same spot the bobcat was. He said they often will check out gunshots, they know hunters don't always get a clean shot. It's that time of year, the predators are hungry.
