well now i'm all hungry for rhubarb! mine wont grow a lick
:-(
the clean kitchen lasted about 38 minutes.... but there is pie so its worth it. now i'm working on bread.
has anyone else heard about "slow sundays"? its kind of a take back the sabbath and rest for the day kind of thing... but some groups advocate using it as a fossil-fuel-free day. while i cant get behind that aspect as sunday is a church going day.. but i kinda like it the concept. instead of driving around doing errands, its about hanging out at home with the family.
the weather kept us home today and no one is happy. we had a wild morning with tornado warnings, rotation in the storm, and the weather guy shrieking.. so it was quite an ordeal. the humidity is just plain oppressive.
fortunately the storm passed to the south of us but we had all the outside critters locked down and all the inside critters sequestered where we could easily grab them (no one hiding under a bed upstairs) in case we had to all run and hide in the basement.
there was lots of rumbling, wind, and a TON of rain, but we didnt get the worst of it. by the time i could get the computer back up i saw that at least 4 people were dead near Toledo from the storms last nite.
we were thankful we didnt get clobbered. but by the time it was over we missed our leave-for-church time. so boo.
so i'm making bread, eating pie, and in between showers i'm going to run outside and weed the gardens. the good news about all this hot and wet is that everything in the garden is growing.. the bad news is so are the weeds! i havent been able to get anything planted since friday morning (out before 6) so i'm feeling behind.
i guess i'm rolling with this whole slow sunday thing and making the best of it. onward and upward!
