Why go if you can't win. That's actually really sad, and that really says a lot about a person. Referring to another thread, of course.

And people really feed their animals going to show differently than those that are their 'normal' herd?? Mine are always ready to go if I needed them to.

K, no I don't plant anything special, our pasture is a pretty decent size with a nice variety so it's all wild. Catnip, burdock, raspberry, nettles, chickweed, plantain, milkweed, clover, and more all have medicinal properties that are beneficial to ourselves and our goats!

The fact is that a person is never going to kill off every bad thing in their animal's body, and they shouldn't, it keeps their bodies 'aware' and fit to fight off any nasties and builds strong immunity. Sometimes I think people forget all of that. Really, all of the specialized foods and 'alfalfa only' limitations that people are forcing upon their animals is what is really helping a lot of these problems along, just like the food industry that we're dealing with now.

Also, I had some birdsfoot trefoil, just a small plot for looks (though it all died) and I've read that it can be fatal to people and animals, so be careful.

yeah i know isnt that weird? there are "show" feeds at our feedstore and they are medicated... i think its weird.

and yep on your pasture.... i agree. you know what we say around here: get out there and free range because its FREE

hey BBH!

and i know you were talking about Nibbles! we actually called her the Hindenburg for a while... and then it was "Big Bites" ....and she was "Tubby" and.. well heck, poor Nibbles.

she's a funny little thing for sure. she keeps loosing her collar. its kinda like when Kermit the Frog lost his collar and he looked naked.... ha ha ha ha ha poor Nibbles we sure give her the business. good thing she's cute AND a good milker

Well give her a hug for me, please!

Now about the goat collars, I see lots of them in colored plastic chain collars, do you do that? And why? Are they break away? Just curious is all.

how funny is this! she was out there cute-ing it up and i said to her:

oh Nibbles, i bet your Auntie Sal just loves you....and so do i!

and i gave her a loving pat. the one good thing about the ladies all starting to be in heat is that they are all really snugly! oh the lovin's i'm getting!

Nibbs came with a fabric dog-like break away collar which is really good for her. and i have those plastic chain break away ones for the other gals.

and yeah you want to have break away ones. someone (???) told a terrible story about how they found their goat hanging from a doornob by its collar!

goats = cats...only wackier about the malfeasance they get into
