I was on the basketball team 1 year in elementary school. Wasn't because I was tall (or even a good player). Our gym burned and mom made all the girls basketball uniforms - so my being on the team was a given. :gig

Well, I just found out what big game you guys were talking about. My DH just called and couldn't understand why everyone was wearing red shirts and jeans today (he works in Columbus). Then he found out that it the first home game for Ohio State. I just started laughing and told him about you guys talking about it on here and I had no idea what football game you were talking about. He said I guess you just have to be an OSU football fan and you are allowed to wear jeans to work. I told him he will have to find out the football schedule, buy himself a red shirt and then he can wear jeans to work too.

:clap :D

I'd rather watch the dog play with the ball . . . or a duck muck around in a puddle. :)

I was on swim team in high school. Although we were outcasts and never considered jocks. The other sports teams would have nothing to do with us. Of course, I could have cared less because I couldn't stand the jocks anyway.

yeah, Saturday marks the beginning of my least favorite season, especially living in E TN: football season. more specifically, UT football season. it's AWFUL here.

the only sport that genuinely interests me is rugby. i mean, have you seen rugby players? :drool

At last - someone else who hates UT football. That's all everybody ever talked about at work. Wore the orange shirts on Friday, gave away their money on the football boards, and I just couldn't stand it.

People at my DH's work can't believe that he never has any idea when a big game of any kind is on. He doesn't even know if they won or lost the next day and usually doesn't even know that they have played until people are either cheering or crying over the game at work. We watch very little TV and turn off the news after the weather so we never see sports and we don't get a newspaper. We just laugh at these people who live and die sports and are actually deeply depressed when their favorite sport teams lose. We have better things to do and think about.
