Wow, Nibbles is looking fantastic!
Totally agree about the weeds and herbs in pasture. Soon as this weather cools I'm going to take a walk in mine to see what's growing - it's only about .5 acre, but we let it go au naturale. We also have a small patch of overgrown scrub and brambles that we could never get control of, so the goats can have it :celebrate Unfortunately, none of it is fenced in yet so it will have to be grazing with supervision. I think some call that goat therapy for humas, so I'm happy to oblige. And the cuteness might win over the neighbors.

So I guess there's some big football game tonight, are ya tailgaiting yet? We will watch, but aren't die-hards. Actually I'm not even sure if it's on TV, and you don't have TV do you?

Oh great, just heard buildings are being evacuated downtown. A phone ringing in a mailbox. Maybe hubby will come home early today.

hey Java!

yep..she's really pretty right now. and very cute. and still milking really well. i want to start another cheese today "Nibbles Bleu", i hope.

evacuations? really? yikes - dont have the news on.. but hope you get your hubby home for a free day! i think everyone is going to be on edge b/c of that Discovery Channel thing. yikes!

as far as football goes.. i swear we are the only people in the state that dont have any hoots at all for the football thing. every once in a while my hubby will watch a pro game but as far as the buckeye madness. we aint got none of that.

when i first moved here the Big Game was Cleveland vs Seattle (i think it was the Ohio Ground Hogs vs the Seattle Starfish or something) and i still had my Wash state plates. someone at the gas station said something to me about The Big Game and i was all "i dunno, dont care really" and they nearly blew apart on me.

not that i was on the wrong team - but that i didnt care. even an older lady in line behind me said something like:

"well, honey. you're in a football town now"

and yes i did turn around to turn, put my hand on my hip, and say:

"and i still dont care."

i left them all slack jawed and buggy-eyed.

but i do like to go over to the neighbors for the games - they love the whole thing and always have good snacks

;-)

 starfish vs. ground hogs. Are you sure you weren't watching Spongebob?

Hmmm, looks like they aren't evacuating...just closing the area to traffic. Better safe than sorry I guess. There's nutjobs everywhere and when one comes out it stirs them all up.

You're not the only one OFG! Being 6'6" and 250 people always assume that I played football, etc. I always left them slack-jawed (not a long trip usually) with my comeback that there is nothing in this world sadder than watching a grown man chase a ball -- unless it's a grown man paying to watch a grown man chase a ball. Dogs chase balls...

I had that problem with basketball.

When I was young and thin I was also very athletic from riding and training horses. EVERYONE would start talking basketball to me. Can't you be tall and athletic without everyone assuming you play basketball?

I used to let them talk a while, give them a puzzled look and say, "Is that the game with the pointy ball or the round orange one?" :gig

I also had the same problem with music. People again assume that I love country music since I like animals and farming things. Why can't they realize that you can ride horses to Classical or Celtic and garden to Jethro Tull or the Highland Bagpipes? :ep :gig

My DH and I could care less about football, basketball or baseball. Just a way for people to bilk money out of you. I will go see my nephew play at his high school football game once though.

Last hot day today! Yeah! I can't take any more of this. Hard to believe I used to thrive in heat when I was a teen. Now it makes me sick.

Being a 6' tall female, people often assume I played basketball. Actually I did play in middle school but I SUCKED! LOL

I CAN NOT take my eye off the when I dribble otherwise I just lose the ball. I can't type without looking at the keyboard either. Just the way my brain is wired.

These traits do, however, make me an excellent softball and volley ball player. Wish I would have known you could make a living playing beach volley ball when I was younger!

Yeah, hubby asked me yesterday what we used to do as kids in all this heat and my reply was "we went out and played in it cause we didn't have tv OR air conditioning....and we got the crap beat out of us if we weren't back on the porch by dark!"

As for sports....never been into football, baseball, or basketball. Hubby likes soccer but I get bored with it. I do like a good game of volleyball though! I played all through high school and college....I'd play now but I'm afraid my creaking bones would distract the other players....

Nibbles is cute....I don't think she looks like a toad at all!
