We always know what's going on because our sports fanatic neighbors go out and re-enact all the games play by play. I'm not kidding. We just sit outside and :pop

I usually just read (sounds better than lurk) and this is definitely a must-read blog and I just read the football comments and got so excited I forgot my password trying to sign in and comment. And now I can't remember who I wanted to quote and I don't know how to get back there but just let me say, hallelujah, it's wonderful to know some folks who are not football mad. I so dread the total descent into madness which has begun here!! I really thought it was only in south that people were so insane - yeah, like TN and I'm here in Football Madness City USA (i.e home of the University of Alabama) and everybody thinks I'm the insane one who warbles on about environmental issues and such. And I would love to be able to quote the person who had the comment about it being sad to watch a grown man chase a ball. Okay, said my piece. Thanks for all the info, I really learn a lot from yall!!

hey dreamweaver!

glad you stopped by... come on in and warbler all ya like! and there might even be pie later

:)

i think my sports hatin' started when i was in high school (jr high?) gym when Mark Somebody was screamin' at me to RUN FASTER when it was my turn at kickball.

and all y'all know that i gave him a smoldering look and RAN SLOWER just to shine him on. i woulda given him the finger but back then you'd could still get paddled for being naughty.

i remember thinking one time... why would you try so hard at a game? dontcha wanna win at LIFE?

but whatever. i know that its good for some folks to do sports to get all the ants out of their pants.

at some point we'll go to the neighbor kid's game and no matter what, we'll tell them that they "were the best ones." even if i dont have any idea whats going on out there aside from all the running around.

oh golly its hot in the kitchen.. i'm on my last couple round of canning then its time for ME to cry uncle and turn on the AC.

:)

wait, did someone say pie????

:gig

And not to bash on Tiger Woods repeatedly or anything, but it seems like all that sporty-fun doesn't always get all the ants out!

Seriously, though, I do love me some tomatoes. Nothing like getting one out of the garden, blowing off the dirt, with some salt, juice running down your chin....yum. I haven't found any really good ones this year. Maybe next year I'll have the nerve to try to grow some.
