Dang goats.

So I guess it must have been the crazy cat posse that drove Ginger to my house huh?

That still doesn't explain the missing pie.... but I guess if good ol' Ginger decided to work the pole that would explain why it's off kilter an all.

Dang cats :smack

* discreetly puts sharpie in back pocket and avoids eye contact with Dace *

oh.. hey D! um.. how's it goin? *snicker snicker snicker*

we do have fun, dont we! ha!

ok here's the deal - the NICEST family just came to get Ginger!! yay! a woman and her 2 girls.. and Ginger went right to them!!! and it was kinda what i thought - a younger family just getting started and yeah she's just like us. so yay!

and the best part is that their neighbor is a big animal vet! and their other neighbor has hay and straw... and when we all had a big laugh about butchering in the front yard.. well... for heavens sakes looks like we have new friends. yay!

so it all worked out

but NIBBLES.. man! she had a total Nibbles breakdown as we were leading Ginger away! holy cow i cant believe the crying.

so now she and Debbie are out there trying to kill each other (in that goat way of basically looking meanly at each other). should be an interesting winter for sure.

and she brought me a huge bucket of apples - more than a bushel and they are the heritage ones that we like so much.

so....

who wants apple pie!!!???

i'm in the kitchen cutting up apples to this video:

whoooot!

shake my money maker, shake my money maker.. ching ching i'm gettin' paid over here... ching ching...

How awesome to make new SS friends! You did a good thing and it's already paying off :thumbsup Now if you could send some of that my way...we just are not finding anyone to pal around with up here. The neighbors are giving thinly veiled threats about us having enough animals already...I was hoping to turn some of them but it ain't happening.

...on a funny note, we do have a Nigerian couple at church who really wants to come over and slaughter chickens and goats at our place  I said, sure - our chickens need culling, and I'll let you know about a goat in the spring...

Dag nab it - I missed the bus! Ya'll coulda swung by Tahoe, then picked me up and headed down to Dace's place. You musta gone the southern route instead of I80.

Oh well, sounds like everyone had a terrific, if not non-memorable time with pie, goats, beer, bourbon, stripper pole, and hooting and hollering.

Dang it, and my creative painting fool hubby wasn't even here last nite or tonite! Off painting in the bay area somewhere. So if you make another bi coastal trip, count me in this time!

the apples have LANDED!

whoot! made a crisp last nite wiht the apples that the lady who took Ginger brought us.. wow extra delish. and now its all apples all the time.

and i got a nice note back from the her saying that her girls just love Ginger and they all had a great time yesterday. so it all worked out.

but

here is a funny - gentle readers might way to look away....

ready?

seriously.. look away if you dont want to read it....

so

yesterday my hubby talked to his mother and during all the blab blab blab... said we found a home for Ginger. so she launches into this whole thing about how do we know what kind of people they are? what if they mistreat her? what if they EAT her?

this is funny b/c she's half MEAT goat.... which he says to her ...and it just winds her up more.. so he says maybe they will only eat HALF of her

so that launched her into orbit

then she started going on and on about who much did we get for her - remember we basically got some little stuff, a bushel of apples (that the MIL wont give us from their trees), and the satisfaction of knowing we helped someone else

at this point my hubby was done with her and wouldnt tell her. (which i think is hilariously passive aggressive of him)

so she got even madder and he just ended the conversation and came up laughing about it...and warned me that she was gonna give us the 3rd degree when we see her.

so we started coming up with a list of things we'd tell her... just to shine her on...and we settled on telling her .....

....that we traded Ginger for a case of beer to a bunch of drunk guys that wanted her for a bachelor party.

i'll letcha know how it goes. but all y'all within the tri-state area will hear the screaming i'm sure....

thats the thing.. he's one of the best people i know... he's totally normal. i just keep shaking my head

actually he spent a LOT of time with both sets of grandparents and thats where he got his goodness from. she was ...ahem.. "a very young mom"....

it was kinda hard to take her seriously when we were teenagers...she was only 19 yrs older than we were.

now she's just weird.

you'd think it would kill her to choke out the words "oh honey isnt that wonderful" instead of raking us over the coals all the time.

she is convinced we abuse all our animals and is horrified that we raise them for food. we have to hear about it all the time.
