nah i dont think there will be a revolution.. and yes, the mods want folks to just report.

however.

if you are the person that gets called names...over a FARM ANIMAL. thats just too much.

in general i think the mods do a great job. but i dont think they have any idea about the meanies over there..or how many folks leave b/c they get slammed by some of those folks.

i think the worst thing i heard was someone inferring that people who dont have a certain amount of money shouldnt have (farm) animals. um... farm folks sometimes are cash poor ....but farm poor is better than other kinds of poor.

wow.

can you imagine being a young family trying to get started? i basically gave Ginger away so some folks could get started.. the mean folks would say they didnt "deserve" her b/c they couldnt "afford" her.

WHATever.

anyway - i gotta get supper

:)

BB!!!!! NO WAY!!!! E4S got b-b-b-b-b-banned??????? Now, that is just a rotten thing! :somad I really like her wit and she had great common sense.

OFG, you are right. I've been told over and over on BYC and BYHs that folks who have little money shouldn't be allowed to have animals because they can't afford to vet them for every booger that hangs from their nose.

My own sister told me that also.....

What an elitist attitude. :sick Poor people settled the wilderness in this country and they had animals. They doctored their own, as I do.

Heck, if that were indeed true, big industry beef conglomerates and rich folk in the city would be the only people with animals.

I say :tongue to the whole rotten bunch and give big :hugs to E4S!

Thanks, Java....I really need to laugh right now...been sad for awhile. :)

Well, it was only a 3-week ban or so, and it was a long time ago. So she's OK.

But yeah. I just call it as I see it. They don't like it, they can kiss it. I refuse to hide under a chair or be sorry for how I feel on the subject.

we can overwhelm and balance out the jerks, but only if we speak up. Good people need to speak up or the inmates will run the assylum! Join the posse and ride with us!
So I need to buy a goat so I can thump on bullies? Hummmm.....
Um, WZ, this is the internet. You can be who/what ever you want to be....hey, own a whole herd of goats and ride 'em in our posse!!

When Mya was having trouble delivering Cork...I mean, Plum....I got flack from the office person at the vet's for not running her right in for a quick c-section. This is the same practice that charged me $900 for an emergency anal gland surgery for my dog last...um....winter? Spring? Fall? Who knows, I've been distracted the past couple of years....I almost passed out when I got the bill. I think I only paid a hundred more, years ago, for open heart surgery on the same dog, different practice. Most paid for by the breeder I got him from, I think I paid $2-300 out of my pocket. Can you imagine what a c-section on a goat would cost??? And the likelihood of survival? A dangling booger costs about $3-400 here.

Shame on me for choosing to pay the mortgage and keep our home instead.

yup, shame on you Free!!
Broke people just shouldn't have animals that help to feed them, nor should we grow vegetables in our yards, because that uses too much water, and or it distracts from the uniformity of the neighborhood, nor are we entitled to eat well according to our own choice of what eating well means, and don't get me started on healthcare....

Yeah, when I told her what would happen to the goat rather than c-section, she said, "You are SO MEAN!" Idiot. It is nicer to put my family out on the street? And send all our animals to the pound? Really? REALLY??? Yikes.

I just got in from giving my pigs a good deep tissue sports massage. They were all stressed and sore from the cruelty of having to break open pumpkins and husk their own corn. Poor little piggie-poos. I put a space heater in their house as the nights are cooler now, and am almost done building the screen house so they can get away from the mosquitoes.

NOT!

Wow you gals must be really tired. Friday night passed without a party! I guess the stress of massaging those pigs and thumping those villeins over at "the other site" (she whispers) really wore you out.

Well, I'm up and at 'em this AM - off to the Farmers' Market - Good Saturday everyone.
