* stumbles up stairs to kitchen Command Center, brushes pie and turkey sandwich crumbs off shirt, looks around at disaster that is the kitchen.... decides to deal with it later*

hey everyone!

well we had one heck of a time. we successfully avoided the MIL, we are total liars and all our friends know it. every time the phone rang and we let it go to the answering machine all we heard was: LIARS WE KNOW YOU ARE THERE.. hee hee hee

the MIL finally called late to see if we "made it home" HA!

so there was an unprecedented number of turkey sandwiches consumed, i'm not sayin about the booze, and there was no pie left in the house so this morning i made tiny pies (peach and apple) to get us thru this last holiday day

yesterday we watched all my favorite "feel good" movies - Gladiator, the 300 - all those classics. today its either all the Riddick movies and/or all the LOTR's movies.

so i'll call it a success. for now tho, i'm headed back downstairs to sit by the fire with the pup and take in some more entertainment. and pie.

:)

ok and PS........ that CL ad is just disturbing. WOW! all them pbp's are is small cuts of ham. sheesh! hey maybe i should email them my blog link so they can see what kinda home those little porkers will have.. on the day i post the technical description of "do it yourself home butchery." HA!

Well so far we've had 2 days of left overs - I don't think I can get by with it another day. But my house sure smelled good with the broth I was simmering on my stove. 4 quarts now abide in my freezer.

Good Sunday morning everyone!

happy sunday everyone!

whooot! left OVERS!!! i love not cooking. but yesterday i broke down and made (turkey) meatballs and tiny pies. so i still really dont have to cook today!!!

and i made a really good hash from turkey and stuffing - with an egg on top.

the good news is... i finally got the book i ordered - The Art of Raising your Puppy by the monks of new skete --- they raise/train dogs esp GSDs.

WOW what a great book!

the best news is that i didnt ruin the puppy.. whew.. so far so good.

but just after i read about how pups sometimes enter a fear/timid phase (weeks 10 - 12) i took Kai outside, she ran under foot and i kicked, tripped, and then fell on her.

i'm the worst mommy ever. there was a lot of crying. she recovered, i probably will not. sigh....

anyway its a GREAT reference and answers a lot of questions and has a great training program. even better they are very happy to point the finger at the owners, not the pups, for naughty behavior. and they talk a lot about pack behavior so i really loved it.

of course now that Kai will need years of therapy b/c i fell on her..

anyway - thats the word here. its 19* so we are carefully timing going to church and letting the masses out at the last minute. cold cold cold. boooo!

AND we have to face the MIL and our fake "going to my sisters" for tday. we are a coupla liars and they will probably have a special alter call for us at church. sheesh. i feel the conviction comin' on me....

maybe i'll give her the puppy book so she can train her stupid poodles. ha!

happy sunday!!

I bet that puppy has already forgotten mommy fell on her. Maybe even wishes you'd fall again cause she got so much lovin' and snugglen' and probably special treats. You know and they know they play on your sympathy. :hugs

Puppies need the life lesson of staying out from underfoot of the Master. That is normal and it happens to everyone, OFG.

Hope your visit goes well and isn't as bad as you were anticipating!

Last week, I tripped over both a cat and a chicken. And, they both still get underfoot. :/
